Thunder Breathing
Added Thunder Breathing as a third playable style, selectable next to Water and Flame. It brings its own Nichirin, rank badges and progression, and every one of its eight forms and its passive ships with dedicated sounds, visual effects and ability icons, for players and Slayer NPCs alike.
-
Passive — Thunder Marks. Four forms build up to five marks per target (10s, refreshed on application); four consume them. Consumers scale damage with the previous stack, up to ×2 at five, and a full stack applies three seconds of Paralysis; Paralysis blocks new marks and grants brief follow-up immunity. Costs are configurable: Rice Spirit spends 3, Heat Lightning 1, and Honoikazuchi/Sixfold 3, while insufficient stacks are still spent without a bonus. Thunder Swarm and Distant Thunder add 2 marks by default. Marks appear above targets and glow when full; Thunder also grants +20% base stamina regeneration before Concentration.
-
First Form — Thunderclap and Flash. Charge a plasma ring, then dash up to the aimed line, marking and damaging enemies crossed. Recast during the chain window without recharging, at a rising stamina cost; walls and dangerous fluids shorten the arrival.
-
Second Form — Rice Spirit. Five rapid frontal slashes can hit the same enemy. It reads and spends up to three marks on the first connecting slash; a full stack paralyses the target and refreshes its cooldown.
-
Third Form — Thunder Swarm. Afterimages pull enemies toward the caster, who leaps and slams the group; the landing applies the marks.
-
Fourth Form — Distant Thunder. Ride an eight-leg lightning zigzag that follows the terrain, damaging, pushing and marking enemies on first contact. Walls, cliffs and blocked ground end it early.
-
Fifth Form — Heat Lightning. Strike a frontal arc. Targets without a full stack are thrown away; a full stack instead causes five seconds of Paralysis, lifting the target under an electric tether and adding repeated pulses—the only extended Paralysis.
-
Sixth Form — Rumble and Flash. Strike the nearest enemy at a distant point, then chain to marked targets. Each jump marks again and deals increased damage; this form only builds marks.
-
Seventh Form — Honoikazuchi no Kami. The caster and dragon charge along a validated lane of up to 50 blocks, capturing and holding targets before a bite and explosion at the finisher point. Walls and unsafe space shorten the lane; marks extend the hold and scale finisher damage.
-
Eighth Form — Thunder Sixfold. Capture and paralyse targets, cross them with five afterimages, then land the closing blow carrying Thunderclap's trail. The afterimages converge into an accelerating stream. Marks are read at capture and spent on the closure, scaling afterimage and closing damage but never the number of strikes.
-
When you learn Thunder Breathing your lightning is rolled gold or blue, an even chance either way, and it keeps that color for good. Honoikazuchi's dragon now uses that saved variant too.
Breath Menu
- The breath overview, the technique detail sheet and the keybind screen are now a single pixel-art menu, opened by sliding fusuma doors with your own character standing on the stage behind them.
- The forms are laid out as a tree of eight tiles. A form you have not unlocked still opens its sheet, so the whole style can be read before you get there.
- Every technique now has a written description in game, with the server's own configured values written into it, next to its damage, range, stamina and cooldown.
- Every attribute now has a description of its own as well.
- The combat view holds the eight skill slots and a preferences drawer with the HUD mode, the mouse wheel lock, the first-person animation and arm options, and the stamina bar readout.
NPCs
- Added Zenitsu Agatsuma and a generic Thunder Breathing slayer, both with dialogue, spawn eggs and entries in the Kimetsu spawner.
- Slayer NPCs can now chain techniques into authored combos instead of only casting one at a time. Thunder NPCs use four of them, and pick their forms by distance, line of sight and the marks already on their target.
Items
- Added the Thunder Nichirin. It is dropped by Zenitsu, shown on Thunder rank-up toasts, and now counts toward the sword crafting advancement like the Water and Flame blades.
Commands
/kc player thundervariant <gold|blue> [target]sets a player's Thunder color./kc combat control paralysis [target]applies Thunder Paralysis to an entity.
Fixes
- The stat "+" buttons now enable as soon as your points arrive from the server, instead of staying grey until the screen is reopened.
- Slayer NPCs now get the same fall-damage protection as players during techniques that carry them through the air.
- Leaving a world or respawning no longer leaves Thunder charge state, travel state or lingering effects behind on the client.

CurseForge records required project relations but cannot pin a dependency file version. Modrinth pins each dependency to the matching Forge build configured for this release.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
