KLAXON v0.5.0
Reworks
-
Entity Weight
- No longer Attribute Modifier-based.
- Now is a simple boolean yes/no. An entity is either heavy or light.
- Read the Wiki page for more info.
-
Blast Processing Recipes
- Now supports Chance Outputs!
- Several existing recipes have been upgraded with a chance at extra outputs
-
Steel Armor
- Has been completely retextured!
- Steel Chestplate now requires a Steel Casing instead of a Steel Block to craft.
-
Steel Wrench
- Now supports Steel & Crude Steel Doors & Trapdoors.
- "Wrenchable" interface now exists which allows addition of wrench support to more blocks more easily. Currently only used for the above mentioned and the Hallnox Bulb.
-
Steel Cable Shears
- Now acts like Shears when processing loot tables.
-
GameRules
- shouldBlastProcessorExplosionsModifyWorld GameRule now uses the klaxon.[NAME] naming convention.
-
Hammer Walljumping
- Is no longer fully disabled by Heavy Equipment.
-
Tool Usage Recipes
- Have been datafied in a better way for improved UI/UX.
Features
Content
-
Hallnox Fungus / Blockset
- An inert derivative of Warped & Crimson Fungus that can thrive in any environment, from the deepest depths of the ocean to the farthest reaches of space.
- While it does not directly retain the special properties of its predecessors, some form of magic seems to linger within.
- Hallnox Woodset
- Due to being a derivative of Nether Fungus, the Hallnox Woodset does not have a boat. However, it is fireproof.
- Hallnox Pod
- The stylish sapling-ish-thing of Hallnox Fungus. It's an instance of SaplingBlock, so that kinda counts.
- Currently obtainable from Sniffers, although that might change in the future. Wink wink.
- Can grow in all directions. Upright, sideways, and downright have different tree shapes.
- Growth is disabled automatically when attached to Hallnox Wart, Hyphae, or Stems. Can also be disabled manually via Shears.
- Can be used on any quality of Steel Casing to create a Nether Reactor Core.
- Hallnox Bulb
- Stylish fusion of Hallnox Pods, Glass, and Steel. (Can be crafted with any plate, though, because yeah)
- A light fixture sure to wow any houseguests.
- Automatically connects to other Bulbs when placing. You'll figure out how it works.
- Connections can be toggled with the Steel Wrench.
-
Grapple Winch & Steel Grapple Claw
- Grapple Winch
- The latest & greatest pseudolegendary item offered by KLAXON.
- Uses Steel Grapple Claws as Ammo
- Steel Grapple Claw
- Ammunition for the Grapple Winch, although it can exist while disconnected.
- Instantly destroys any valid blocks in its path. By default, this includes Cleaver and Hammer-Instabreakable blocks among other things.
- Can stack to 16.
- Can veinmine hammer-instabreakable blocks on its return journey
- This feature is enhanced by data-driven Veinmine Groups - an example of which includes the ability to veinmine all blocks in the #c:glass tag.
- Can drag items along with it
- Anchored Grapple Claws can be yanked out of the ground if wielder is wearing Heavy Equipment.
- Can hook and pull Entities
- Has been finetuned and polished for like 6 months.
- Taught me several new things about modding, networking and rendering.
- Try this thing out, it's epic.
- Grapple Winch
-
Nether Reactor Core (and the Crude Variant)
- Detonating an explosive that produces a vanilla explosion within either of these blocks will trigger a Nether Reaction Explosion.
- The main difference between the two Nether Reactor Cores is that the Steel one leaves the casing behind after activation, while the Crude one is destroyed.
- This makes the proper Nether Reactor Core easier to automate, as replacement Hallnox Pods can be applied via Dispenser.
-
Steel Casing
- Obligatory tech mod casing block
- Currently only used to make Nether Reactor Cores, Steel Chestplates, and Grapple Winches, but will be of grater use in the future.
-
Wires & Wire Spool Blocks
- Prepping for adding machines. It's coming soon, trust me haha.
- Right now the Steel Wire Spool is used to make the Grapple Winch.
- Wire Spool Blocks are crafted with Fences, because I'm evil.
- There's also full oxidation stages for the Copper Wire Spools, which look pretty cool.
-
Crested Steel Helmet
- A special variant of the Steel Helmet
- Has a dyeable cosmetic crest
- Obtainable in a special way - one hint is that it's a reference to a Minecraft server :)
-
Armor Trims
- Steel is now usable as an Armor Trim Material.
Recipe Types
-
Nether Reaction
- Hijacks an explosion that goes off within a Nether Reactor Core, then turns all nearby valid blocks into their Nether counterparts.
- Put in as a progression failsafe against Nether biome mods - Warped & Crimson Fungi will be vital to progression in the future.
-
World Item Application
- TOTALLY not ripping off Create. Definitely not.
- Allows you to use an item on a block to transform it into another block. 100% original.
- Is currently only used to make Nether Reactor Cores.
- Has a unique feature in that all KLAXON Manual Item Application recipes can be performed by Dispensers.
GameRules
-
klaxon.dispensersPerformWorldItemApplicationRecipes
- Allows server admins and pack devs to decide if they want to have Dispensers be able to perform Manual Item Interaction recipes or not.
Advancements
- Advancement Page renamed from "KLAXON - Prelude" to "KLAXON - Initialization". Mainly because I felt that was ripping off ULTRAKILL a bit too much.
- This will wipe any advancements you may have from before this update. Won't happen again, as internally it's now called "klaxon:stage_one/whatever", but sorry about that.
-
Uses 96 Batteries
- Obtain a Hallnox Pod.
-
THE NETHER.
- Activate a Nether Reactor Core by detonating an exposion within the block.
-
Wire So Shearious
- Craft Metal Wire by using Steel Cable Shears on a Metal Plate
-
Boring Mining Tool
- Obtain the Grapple Winch
-
Spidey
- Intentionally disconnect a Grapple Cable while moving. This is an expensive way to move around, but it's cool so that makes up for it.
-
Smash And Grab
- Veinmine Glowstone by retracting an attached Grapple Claw with the Grapple Winch
-
Dragonhearted
- Grapple onto an Ender Dragon.
- I added specialized compat for this - you know you're suffering from feature creep when you're adding special handling for ender dragons and item frames in the same class.
Splashes
- Splashes are now resource-driven instead of hardcoded. So you can remove them if you don't like them.
-
OH MY BLOCKS!
- Sourced from a Minecraft manga book that my friends and I picked up. Thought it was funny enough to add.
-
THIS IS MY CRAFT!
- Same as above. :)
-
Diabolical!
- Ref to The Boys
-
Phenomenal
- Ref to Dispatch
-
[TITLE CARD]

Removals
-
Removed Innate Enchantments
- They were hard to maintain, brittle, and not that fun.
- To compensate, the durability of all Steel Equipment has been greatly increased.
-
Removed Dual Wielding
- Needless, not-useful complexity that I didn't want to maintain
-
Removed Item Cooling
- It was an unfun and intrusive mechanic that provided too little of a challenge to be interesting - alongside being way too wack to maintain.
-
Removed Molten Rubber
- Again, kinda unfun. This streamlines gameplay a bit
-
Removed Vanilla Recipe Overwriting
- Blast Furni and Flint & Steel no longer require Steel / Crude Steel to craft.
- I did a test playthrough and this ticked me off
- Also not my place to be overwriting this kinda stuff haha. That's up to packdevs.
Compat
Jade
- Added Jade tooltip for Hallnox Pod growth status. Indicates whether growth is inhibited by supporting block or has been disabled with Shears.
- Steel Cleaver is now registered under the Axe category - no longer will the icon show up when highlighting any axe-mineable block.
- Steel Grapple Claws now have an icon when looked at with Jade
EMI
- Tool Usage recipes are now dynamically added as new categories - you can datapack some in if you like!
- Added compat for Nether Reaction recipes
- Added compat for Manual Item Application Recipes
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
