Changes
Added
- Loot roll preview. The Loot tab's Roll button rolls the table you are editing 100, 1000 or 10000 times and lists each drop with its chance per roll, average count and range. The item in your main hand is the tool, so Fortune and Silk Touch apply. Tool gating from the block itself (requires tool) is not part of the table and is not simulated
- More block properties. Speed factor, jump factor, sound type (picked from the names KubeJS accepts), collision and random ticks, all written through
BlockEvents.modification - Crafting remainder on items, written through
ItemEvents.modification - Find in files. Ctrl+Shift+F searches every text file in the instance with match case, whole word and regex, groups results by file, and clicking a match opens the file with the match selected
- Go to line with Ctrl+G
- The item picker shows your last twelve picks in a Recent row above the list, plus a Bookmarks row with your JEI, EMI or REI bookmarks. Inventory, Recent and Bookmarks each collapse with a click and stay that way
- The console panel has a Copy button for its output
- Indent guides in the editor. One line per indent level, with the caret's block drawn brighter. Turn them off under Settings, Editor
- Separate window. The pop out icon in the tab strip, Ctrl+Shift+O, or Settings, Appearance, Separate window, moves Studio into its own OS window so you can put it on a second monitor and alt-tab to it while the game keeps running. The same icon or key docks it again. The UI scales itself so a half-screen window keeps the full-screen proportions, and Settings, Appearance, Window scale sets a fixed size instead. The window remembers its size and position, the game does not pause while you work in it, and fullscreen falls back to the in-game screen
- Code folding. Bracket blocks and block comments fold from the gutter arrow (hover the gutter to see them) or with Ctrl+Shift+[ and Ctrl+Shift+]. Ctrl+Shift+Minus folds everything and Ctrl+Shift+Equals unfolds it. A folded line keeps its closing bracket on screen and shows a dots badge that unfolds on click
- The find bar has an arrow on its left that opens the replace row, like VS Code. Enter in the replace field replaces the current match and Ctrl+Alt+Enter replaces every match. Ctrl+H still opens it with replace showing
- Select several rows in the Tags, Loot, Properties and Create browsers with Ctrl+click and Shift+click, or pick every row the search shows (up to 256). Properties queues the same change on every selected item or block, Tags and Loot reset them together, and Create deletes them together. Name, texture and attributes are skipped while more than one is selected
- Inventory clicks insert. With a text field or the editor focused, clicking an item in the inventory dialog puts its id at the caret, or replaces the id you are in. In a tag field it offers the item's tags instead
- Event handlers from the API browser. Picking an event inserts a ready-made handler with the right callback, and the editor flags an event that runs in a different scripts folder or is missing its target id
- Recipe search matches fluids.
in:andout:now find recipes by the fluids they take or make, not just items - Recipe namespace setting. Settings, Workflow, Recipe namespace sets the namespace new recipes are written under instead of
kubejsstudio - Full ids as recipe names. Type a full id like
mymod:pathin the Name field and the recipe is written to that exact id, so it overrides the mod's recipe in both KubeJS and datapack output - Browse mod jars and datapack zips in the Files tab. They expand like folders and their files open read-only, so you can read a mod's recipes, tags and lang files without unpacking anything
- Studio text is now in lang files, so it can be translated
Changed
- 1.21.1 now bundles LDLib2 2.2.40. If you use JEI it has to be 19.51.0.417 or newer, which also needs NeoForge 21.1.238 or newer
Fixed
- With a Studio GUI scale different from Minecraft's, dropdowns in the settings dialog closed the dialog, and the editor caret and panel dividers landed away from the mouse
- Overlay split mode covered the New, Duplicate and Queue buttons under the recipe editor
- Renaming a JSON-only recipe in the Name field now updates its id in the KubeJS text, and editing the id updates the field
- Queuing several mining tag edits on the same tag kept only the last one
- Queuing an item again dropped the attribute modifiers it already had applied
- Recipes with fields the form cannot show now open as raw JSON instead of losing those fields, stonecutting keeps its count on 1.20.1, and emptying a loot table or removing a pool asks first
- Tag and item actions that could not run now say why in the status line instead of doing nothing
- Long messages in the Files status line get their own row

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
