LiveBuddy v0.3.0 - Version Lanes
v0.3.0 expands LiveBuddy's Minecraft 1.21 support.
This release keeps 1.21.4 as the maintenance lane and adds 1.21.9, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11 as the new main lane.
Main Changes
Added supported versions
- Minecraft
1.21.4 - Minecraft
1.21.9 - Minecraft
1.21.10 - Minecraft
1.21.11
1.21.4 is treated as the maintenance lane.
1.21.9, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11 are treated as the main lane.
Version-specific structure
The internal structure has been rebuilt so LiveBuddy can be released separately for each supported Minecraft version.
Task changes
- The standalone mining task has been removed from the v0.3.0 UI for now.
- In v0.3.0, mining and terrain leveling are temporarily combined into one
Level / Digtask. - The old mining behavior could dig straight down from the surface and leave Buddy stranded in a vertical shaft. Mining will be redesigned as a safer digging workflow in v0.4.0.
- The upward scan height for
Level / Digis now limited to 4 blocks above the start position. This is a temporary adjustment for stable surface / foot-level terrain work, not for clearing high walls or ceilings.
Bed behavior
- Reduced cases where multiple Buddies choose the same bed.
- Added bed reservation behavior so multiple Buddies are less likely to converge on one bed.
Other fixes
- Fixed some chat messages appearing in Japanese under English language settings.
- Shortened the English Equipment tab label to
Equip.
Notes When Updating From 0.2.0
Existing Buddy owner data
Since v0.2.0, Buddies store an owner UUID.
Depending on when a Buddy was created or migrated, an existing Buddy may not have owner data matching the current player. If that happens, the Buddy may not respond to commands or GUI operations.
If you have OP/admin permissions, you can reassign the owner with:
/lb owner <BuddyName> <UserName>
Example:
/lb owner Charlie polarstern
If successful, the specified Buddy will be assigned to that user.
Workaround for cheat-disabled singleplayer worlds
In a singleplayer world with cheats disabled, /lb owner normally cannot be used.
You can temporarily get OP-like permission for the current session:
- Open the world.
- Press
Escand chooseOpen to LAN. - Set
Allow CheatstoOn. - Start the LAN world.
- Run
/lb owner <BuddyName> <UserName>. - Save and exit.
This only enables cheats for that session.
If the existing Buddy has no name, or the migration does not work cleanly, deleting and respawning the Buddy may be the safest option.
Known Notes
Door-equipped houses
Buddy can route toward targets such as farms in open layouts without doors.
However, in houses with doors, Buddy may stop at the door or at the nearest wall in the direction of the target.
At the moment, Buddy cannot reliably open, close, and pass through doors.
This will be considered for improvement in v0.4.0.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
