Region borders work with shaders now, and villages from other mods get proper names.
Fixed
-
Region borders draw correctly with Iris. With Iris installed the boxes came out skewed and slid around as you moved. The mod was asking the render pipeline for its drawing buffer later than the game guarantees it, which vanilla and Sodium tolerated and Iris did not. Only 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 were affected. Newer versions draw a different way and were always fine.
One deliberate change came with it. Borders now draw before see through blocks, so water and stained glass correctly sit in front of a border that is behind them. They used to draw over water no matter what.
If you run shaders and see the borders wobble by a pixel or two, that is your shaderpack's own anti aliasing rather than the mod.
Added
-
Village names for a lot more places. Ocean, beach, jungle, swamp, badlands, mushroom fields and the nether all have their own word lists now, and forests were split away from taiga so a birch wood stops getting pine names. Expect Brinestrand, Peatmire, Emberfell, Siennabrook and friends.
-
Villages from other mods get named properly. Towns and Towers and Tidal Towns both work out of the box. Where a mod names its structure after a biome the name follows it, and where it does not, the game reads the biome the village actually generated in. That means the Towns and Towers cultural villages, the Tudor and Iberian ones and so on, are named for wherever they landed.
-
The Towns and Towers ship village gets fleet names. A floating town made of a mothership and its escorts deserves better than Greenhollow, so it gets names like Tempestwatch, Iron Flotilla and Prow Anchorage. Tidal Towns keeps coastal names, since its ocean village is a normal village that happens to be on water.
Changed
- Wandering trader camps are called what they are. Towns and Towers has a trader camp that counts as a village, so it was getting a town name. It is called Wandering Trader Camp now.
Notes
- Each Minecraft version is a separate download. Pick the file that matches your game.
- Nothing changes for existing worlds. Villages you have already found keep the names they have.
Requires Fabric API. Mod Menu, Cloth Config, and Waystones are optional.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
