🎬 Welcome to Lumière Play
The first ever release. A cinema inside Minecraft — finally.
✨ What's in this release
The projector block — place it, right-click, paste a link. A virtual screen appears in your world and starts playing. That simple.
Plays almost anything — YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, VK, Rutube, Dailymotion, SoundCloud, and local files on your machine.
Multiplayer ready — everyone nearby watches together. The server needs no extra setup.
Looks and feels right — four screen ratios, five quality levels, spatial audio that fades as you walk away, and the projector faces whichever direction you place it.
Works on Linux, Windows and macOS — VLC and yt-dlp handle the heavy lifting on all three.
🔔 Beta notice
This is a first public release. Things work, but edges may be rough. If something breaks — open an issue on GitHub and we will fix it fast.
Grab some cake. Find a wall. Enjoy the show. 🍰
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
