Changes
Changes
- Switched the proximity-based village-presence-detection-algorithm from Square Distance (which I incorrectly assumed was just the diagonal, ie. distance*square-root (hence the name), ie. the most „natural” distance) to Manhattan Distance. It's less accurate than what-I-though-square-distance-was (it just adds X and Z directions together, which may lead the distance feeling a bit elongated), but it's still much better than what-square-distance-actually-is (ie. a multiplication of X*Z, which led to the distace being CRAZILY elongated, with villages that were ~600m away Manhattan Distance turning out to be >100km away in Square Distance)
- Introduced Fabric support
2nd-party support notes
- Works with Baly's Waystones
- Works with Railways Untold (*please note that due to a bug in Railways Untold (present as of the time of writing this; we already reported it on their Discord), you're unlikely to actually experience this integration in game - RUt cannot currently place stations in villages, so unless the initial starting station happens to be near a village (which so far happened only 3 times in dev) and as such inherit its name, you'll just see the vanilla namegen, as that's what LVN falls back on if no village is found in 500m Manhattan Distance)
Extra info
- JAVA 25 IS NEEDED, OTHERWISE THE GAME WILL CRASH ON STARTUP!!!

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
