Changes
2.1.0: Every Weapon Update π‘
The effects aren't mace-only anymore.
β¨ New
- Effects for every weapon: mace, swords, axes, tridents and spears (1.21.11). New Weapons setting in the menu: Mace only, Melee (default) or Anything, which includes bare fists.
- Jump crits count as strong hits with non-mace weapons and get the full effect, just like a mace smash.
- Each weapon has its own kill banner: β SWORD KILL, β AXE KILL, β TRIDENT KILL, β SPEAR KILL, β BARE-HANDED KILL.
- 23 new jokes for swords, axes, tridents, spears and fists, in English, Russian and German.
- 2 new menu splash lines.
π§ Changed
- Gravity and mace jokes now only show up for mace kills. Mob jokes that mentioned the mace were rewritten so they fit any weapon.
- Menu layout: Test Drive and Done now share the bottom row, so the menu still fits on small screens.
- The miss detector (sad trombone) and the highest-smash record are still mace-only.
2.0.0: The Roast Update π₯
A full rewrite. The mod now actually works, and it got a lot louder.
π Fixed
- Slow motion actually slows time now. It used to just break interpolation for 5 seconds after every hit, making mobs stutter and teleport. Now it uses a real tick-rate slowdown with a smooth ease-out (singleplayer).
- Hit detection is accurate now. The old version watched the health of every mob within 100 blocks each tick and counted any damage near a mace swing as your hit. Now the mod records your actual attack (with fall height) and waits for the server to confirm damage or death.
- Big performance improvement: no more scanning every entity in a 100-block radius every tick.
- Volume above 100% did nothing (Minecraft caps it), so the slider is now 0β100%.
- Removed an empty mixin and a hand-written refmap.
β¨ New
- 3 new effects: Confetti, Divine Smite (lightning), BONK!
- Effects scale with fall height: light tap β smash β kill.
- Jokes after every kill, matched to the situation: smash height, 25+ block meteor strikes, player kills, and own lines for ~45 mobs.
- Missed-smash detection: fall 5+ blocks with a mace, hit nothing, get a MISS popup, a sad trombone and a roast.
- Floating popups in the world: hit words (
BAM!,CRUNCH!), damage numbers, kill stamps. - 5 combo ranks: Warming up β Nail driver β Mace-pocalypse β Someone call an admin β Go touch grass.
- Records: lifetime kills and highest smash, with a "new record" popup.
- Camera shake, FOV punch, screen flash. Can be turned off.
- New settings menu (
J): two columns, tooltips, volume slider, stats, a random splash line, and a β‘ Test Drive button. - New settings: Jokes, Popups, Shake & Flash.
- New icon.
π§ Changed
- Explosion effect is more compact and no longer fills the screen with smoke on close-range kills.
- The combo counter moved to the right of the crosshair, so it doesn't overlap world popups.
- All texts rewritten in English, Russian and German.
- Old configs are migrated automatically: invalid values are reset and volume is clamped to 0β100.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
