What’s new
Visual feedback for stone creation Lorestones and Witherstones now emit a short, server-side particle effect when they are placed. This gives immediate, in-world confirmation that an area has come under influence — fully vanilla and without any client mods.
More natural-shaped areas of influence The area affected by Lorestones and Witherstones is now calculated using a world-space distance model instead of chunk-aligned squares. This results in smoother, more organic influence shapes that better reflect how stones are placed in the world.
Why this matters
- Stone placement is easier to trust and understand
- Areas of influence feel less grid-like and more natural
- Visual feedback and spatial behavior are now aligned conceptually
Technical notes (high level)
- Influence areas are derived from stone position using chunk-center distance
- Visual effects are event-driven and lightweight
- Clear separation between domain logic (renewal & protection) and presentation (visual cues)
This release focuses on clarity, correctness, and foundations. Future versions will expand on this with richer area visualization, maturity warnings, and operator-controlled inspection tools.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
