This release marks a major milestone for Memento.
The second core pillar of the mod — Natural Renewal — has now been fully stabilized. The system has been reworked to behave in a way that feels intuitive and predictable during normal gameplay.
What’s new
-
Natural Renewal now “feels right”
- Your bases and active areas are naturally preserved
- Exploration no longer creates unintended protected zones
- Transitions between protected and renewable areas are smooth and consistent
-
Algorithmic work is complete
- The renewal model is now deterministic and locally grounded
- No more heuristic edge cases or surprising behavior
-
Major performance improvements
- Significantly faster processing on large worlds
- Stable behavior even at scale
-
Stronger foundation through testing
- Development has shifted to test-driven design (TDD)
- A comprehensive test suite now protects core behavior and invariants
What this means
- You can trust Natural Renewal to behave consistently
- Your builds are protected without manual setup
- The mod is now moving from feature development → hardening and user experience
Looking ahead
With the core algorithms now complete, future updates will focus on:
- stability and edge-case hardening
- improved operator and player experience
- preparing the mod for General Availability (GA)
This is a foundational release — thank you for being part of the journey.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
