Modrinth Release Title
Clearer renewal model & simplified world scanning
Modrinth Description
This update improves the internal structure and explainability of Memento while keeping operator workflows unchanged.
What’s new
Two clearly separated renewal paths
Memento now treats:
- Natural Renewal (gradual region pruning), and
- Witherstone-driven renewal (explicit chunk renewal)
as structurally independent mechanisms.
Both are shown in /memento explain renewal, but they no longer interfere with each other internally.
Simpler, safer world scanning
/memento do scan now runs in a single pass:
- No hidden retry phase
- Unresolved files are reported clearly
- Rerunning the command reconciles remaining files
Scanning remains fully operator-triggered.
What hasn’t changed
- Nothing runs automatically
- Renewal only happens when you trigger it
- Protection always wins
- No forced chunk unloads
- Vanilla clients remain compatible
This release focuses on clarity, stability, and reduced internal complexity as Memento moves toward General Availability.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
