Changes
Added
- Added the Madness system, which builds from terror damage, pauses briefly before decaying, and triggers a backlash when full.
- Added Madness backlash effects that briefly stun the player, deal damage, reduce hunger, and reduce mana when Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks is installed.
- Added a configurable Madness HUD bar with independent visibility and position settings.
- Added Ascend Willpower bonuses for maximum Madness and Madness decay.
Changed
- Redesigned the sanity, insanity, tempo, and Madness bars with shared styling, gradients, smoother interpolation, animated transitions, and urgent-state feedback.
- Synchronized and persisted Madness values, decay, stun state, and pending backlash state.
- Removed per-sync sanity, insanity, tempo, vent cooldown, and Madness statistics from the console.
Fixed
- Fixed compatibility with other mods that use Minecraft's full-screen post-processing shader slot by ensuring Mind & Motion only updates or shuts down its own sanity shader chain.
- Restricted sanity shader cleanup to the AFTER_LEVEL render stage to prevent repeated shutdown attempts across multiple render stages each frame.
- Fixed the sanity shader applying chromatic aberration and tone mapping when no insanity visual intensity was active.
- Prevented repeated shader failures from flooding the console every render frame.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
