Miner’s Garden
Miner’s Garden is a vanilla-friendly data pack that lets you grow mineral resources instead of spending hours underground. Once you have found a resource for the first time, you can use it to craft a matching mineral seed, plant it on farmland, and grow it like an ordinary crop.
The crops use Minecraft’s wheat-growing mechanics, so they are affected by light, hydrated farmland, random ticks, and bone meal. When a mature crop is harvested manually, it drops its mineral essence and returns at least one seed, with a chance of producing an additional seed so your farm can gradually expand.
Available crops
Miner’s Garden currently adds crops for:
- Coal
- Copper
- Iron
- Gold
- Redstone
- Lapis Lazuli
- Nether Quartz
- Diamond
- Emerald
- Ancient Debris

Crafting mineral seeds
Each mineral seed is crafted using:
- 4 Wheat Seeds
- 4 Bone Meal
- 1 unit of the corresponding resource

Harvesting and crafting resources
Mature crops produce mineral essences. These essences can then be crafted back into their corresponding resources.
Examples include:
- 4 Coal Essences → 1 Coal
- 4 Copper Essences → 1 Copper Ingot
- 4 Iron Essences → 1 Iron Ingot
- 4 Gold Essences → 1 Gold Ingot
- 4 Redstone Essences → 4 Redstone Dust
- 4 Lapis Essences → 4 Lapis Lazuli
- 6 Quartz Essences → 1 Nether Quartz
- 9 Diamond Essences → 1 Diamond
- 9 Emerald Essences → 1 Emerald
Ancient Debris uses an additional crafting step to keep it appropriately rare:
- 9 Ancient Essences → 1 Ancient Fragment
- 4 Ancient Fragments → 1 Ancient Debris
Vanilla-style growth
Mineral crops grow at the same general rate as wheat and support normal bone meal behaviour. They must be planted on farmland and harvested by breaking the mature crop.
Each mature crop provides:
- At least 1 matching mineral seed
- A chance of receiving an additional seed
- Mineral essence used to craft the final resource
Resource pack
The companion resource pack gives every mineral crop, seed, essence, and fragment its own Minecraft-style appearance. It is strongly recommended for the intended visual experience.
Miner’s Garden does not add new ores to world generation and does not replace ordinary mining entirely. Its purpose is to provide a peaceful, renewable, and farming-focused alternative after a resource has already been discovered.
