Moar Pickaxes
The Moar Pickaxes datapack adds a bunch of new pickaxe types to the game. This pack doesn’t focus on statistical upgrades but instead aims to add picks that have special abilities or traits. Because of this, it fits in very nicely with the other datapacks in the ‘Moar’ series. This pack was commissioned to be made for the CAMP Minecraft YouTube series. They were kind enough to let us post it, so please go thank them for letting us do so.You can craft them in the Vanilla Crafting Table. All recipes can all be found HERE, or in-game in the Recipe Guide
The datapack REQUIRES this Library, as well as this Resource Pack.

Free Pickaxes
- Molten Pickaxe: The Molten Pickaxe is able to auto-smelt mined blocks into their smelted forms. This works on ores, stones, and some other blocks. Besides that, it is just a regular diamond pickaxe.
- Miner’s Pickaxe: The Miner’s Pickaxe digs a 3x2x1 hole in front of you. Essentially it digs out a strip mine 3 blocks at a time, which saves you time breaking blocks. However, it has a low mining level, meaning that only stones and other weak blocks can be mined. It is unable to break the higher tier ores as well.
- Diamond Miner’s Pickaxe: Diamond version of the Miner’s Pickaxe. Mines out a 5x2x1 space in front of you.
- Tunnelers Pickaxe: The Tunneler’s Pickaxe mines out a 3x3x1 space centered around the block you break. This is great for excavating large spaces. It is unable to break “weak stones”, however. This list includes stones, netherrack, sandstone, concrete, and more.
- Diamond Tunnelers Pickaxe: The Diamond Tunneler’s Pickaxe works just like the regular Tunneler’s Pickaxe, but has diamond durability. When enchanted with efficiency 5 and a haste 2 beacon you can instant-mine.
- Momentum Pickaxe: Mines slowly at first, but gives instant-mine after you break a block. Will last until you don’t mine a block for 0.25 seconds.
- XP Pickaxe: Has a 1/3rd chance to give 1 xp when you break a block.
- TNT Pickaxe: Causes a TNT explosion where you mined. Has very little durability and is quite dangerous to use.
- Pillow Pickaxe: A very slow pickaxes that comes already enchanted with silk-touch.
- Rainbow Dyemond Pickaxe: Drops a random dye whenever you mine a block, allowing for a unique and interesting dye farm.
- Firework Pickaxe: Causes a random firework explosion where you mine. Not particularly useful for anything.
- Giant Diamond Pickaxe: Mines a 3x3x3 area of blocks. Works on ores.
- Magnetic Pickaxe: Pulls mined blocks to you, making them not burn in lava or get stuck hard to reach.
- Control Pickaxe: Regular Netherite Pickaxe, but if you hold sneak it mines slower. Sometimes slower is better.
- Efficient Pickaxe: Regular Netherite Pickaxe, but comes enchanted with efficiency 8, allowing you to instant-mine deepslate with haste 2.
- Torch Pickaxe: Places a torch in light level 0.
- Diamond Torch Pickaxe: Places a torch in light level 0. Is a diamond pickaxe base.
- Wither Pickaxe: Withers a 5x5x5 area of blocks, making them slowly disappear. Withered blocks don’t drop anything. Only works on weak stones, but 10% of ores will be withered away as well.
- Dragon Pickaxe: Dragons a 5x5x5 area of blocks, making them quickly disappear. Dragoned blocks don’t drop anything. Only works on weak stones, leaving all the ores behind.
- Snow Pickaxe: Makes ice blocks drop. Doesn’t do anything else.
- Ice Pickaxe: Turns adjacent water into ice and lava into obsidian.
- Lucky Pickaxe: When mining ores (without silk touch), it can sometimes drop random good or bad items. The rarer the ore you mine, the more likely you get good drops.
- Log Pickaxe: Mines a 3×3 area… just very slowly.
Patron Exclusive Pickaxes ($1+)
- Cow Pickaxe: Summons an exploding cow at the location you mined. It walks around for a bit before exploding in a dangerous, deadly, world-damaging boom.
- Creeper Pickaxe: Causes a creeper explosion where you mine, and has higher durability than the TNT Pickaxe.
- Bookshelf Pickaxe: Sometimes blocks you break drop randomly enchanted books.
- Fortunate Pickaxe: Comes enchanted with Fortune V, but is kinda expensive to make.
- Cake Pickaxe: Mining blocks restores your hunger.
