Changelog
[1.3.0-beta] - 2026-07-06
Changed
- Level labels are now rendered client-side from synced data; mob names (CustomName) are no longer modified.
- Type names in labels resolve in each client's own language.
- Network protocol bumped to 2 — servers on 1.3.0 require clients on 1.3.0+.
Added
- Update notice in chat: once per session, players are notified when a newer version is on Modrinth, with a clickable download link.
Fixed
- Mobs now follow vanilla despawn rules exactly (the old name-based persistence workaround is gone).
- No more "Named entity died" log spam.
- Name tags, WTHIT/Jade and other mods now see clean mob names.
- Legacy
[LvN]names from older versions are stripped automatically as chunks load.
Notes
- Players without the mod no longer see level labels (labels require the mod client-side).
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
