Changes
Mobile Networks 4.0.2
For Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge. Requires Simple Voice Chat.
New
- Store: install Gram, Maps and the new Speedtest app from your phone. Store keeps the same name in English and Spanish.
- Persistent downloads: progress bars, MB/s rates, connection-loss pauses, manual retry and cancellation. Installed apps and partial progress are saved per player; existing Gram and Maps content is preserved.
- Reception-based throughput: technology and all four signal bars affect simulated speeds. Downloads vary smoothly within sensible ranges rather than jumping randomly between unrelated speeds.
- Speedtest: an original dark interface with a white speedometer needle, blue download and purple upload stages, variable ramp-up and results in MB/s with up to two decimals. Download runs first, followed by a 0.5-second pause before upload begins.
- Results summary: completed tests display download and upload in separate square panels, outlined in blue and purple respectively, with a Test again button. The summary adapts to smaller windows and supports English/Spanish.
- Private Speedtest history: completed results are saved per player in the world, including date, carrier, server, reception and both speeds. Add or edit a note on each result and scroll through the list with the mouse wheel. History and notes remain available without mobile coverage.
- Two fixed speedometer ranges: 500 MB/s for connections with a maximum download capacity of 500 MB/s or less, and 1000 MB/s for faster connections. The correct range is shown throughout the app, even before starting a test. It depends on connection capacity, not instantaneous samples or upload speed; weak connections such as 0.03 MB/s still use the 500 MB/s range.
- Carrier and Server information: reception-dependent loading, with a maximum five-second wait and N/A values when offline.
- Offline Speedtest behaviour: the installed app still opens without service; starting a test searches for a server before reporting a connection error.
- Named Server blocks: choose a name during initial password setup or rename an existing block through its Settings tab.
Improved
- Redesigned the Store app icon with a colourful, shaded shopping bag. Its background stays blue/teal with no red or yellow shapes behind the bag; the coloured squares inside the bag are preserved.
- Automatic selection now prefers the available primary network, then an allowed secondary own network, then permitted roaming.
- Automatic mode returns to the primary network when coverage becomes available again, using bounded background checks.
- E speeds remain between 0.01 and 0.15 MB/s, depending on reception.
- English and Spanish support covers all new controls and connection states.
Compatibility And Performance
- Update the server and all clients together, including earlier 4.0.2 builds. Networking protocol is 15; the mod version remains 4.0.2.
- Existing worlds, subscriptions, phone numbers and social/map content remain compatible. Gram and Maps now require installation through Store.
- Download jobs are bounded and status requests are rate-limited. Speedtest animation runs on the client.
- History is fetched in pages of 20 results, only when opened or scrolled. Saving a note does not require mobile coverage or run background polling.
- All speeds and package sizes are simulated gameplay values. No actual Internet bandwidth tests or large app downloads are performed.
- Voice ports, original sounds and textures remain unchanged.
Optional dependencies

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
