Changes
Mobile Networks 3.4.0 All additions and improvements since 3.2.0. Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge Camera & Gallery
- Added standalone Camera and Gallery apps, available without network coverage.
- Move with WASD and look around with the mouse while taking photos. Use the mouse wheel for 1x–4x digital zoom, without changing the player's field of view.
- Right-click to take a photo or press Escape to cancel.
- Photos are saved locally, with browsing, enlarged previews and deletion confirmation.
- Gram now lets you take a new photo or select one from the Gallery.
- Added local image imports for Gram profile pictures. Maps
- Added Maps, featuring a flat-colour cartographic map rather than satellite imagery: blue water, light green plains, darker forests and jungles, and distinct colours for other terrain.
- The map starts empty and gradually fills with territory explored by players.
- Explored terrain is shared and saved on the server, with separate maps for each dimension.
- Shared exploration updates are batched every 60 seconds by default, with a configurable interval.
- Added panning, zooming and a button to centre the map on your position.
- Create labels for seas, rivers, forests, nature parks, villages, cities and points of interest.
- City categories determine marker appearance, label size and visibility at different zoom levels.
- Rotate labels in 45-degree increments.
- Selectable places support short descriptions, detailed descriptions and photo carousels. Players can contribute photos using the Camera or Gallery.
- Operators can inspect authors and delete any place, including non-selectable labels.
- Maps requires data coverage. Weak connections take longer to load images. Messages & Operator SMS
- Added private conversations alongside group chat.
- Online players appear as available contacts. Once a conversation starts, it remains available after either player disconnects.
- Private message history is saved on the server and survives reconnects and restarts.
- Send messages in existing conversations to offline players, with notifications delivered when they return with a phone and coverage.
- Authorised Server blocks can send operator SMS using saved profiles with names, pictures and optional blue verification badges.
- Operator conversations can allow replies or be read-only. Players reply from their phones; authorised users read those replies through the Server block.
- Operator pictures can come from the Camera, Gallery, a local file path or a direct image URL.
- Added adjustable 1:1 cropping with circular profile picture display.
- Added a confirmed pick-up and relocate action for Server blocks, preserving their identity, password, linked networks, profiles and conversations within the same world. Languages
- British English is now the default and fallback language.
- Any Spanish client language automatically selects Spanish. All other client languages use English.
- Translated apps, controls, notifications and system messages. Player-written content remains unchanged. Voice & Calls
- Added server-configurable proximity voice chat, enabled by default.
- Proximity chat and private calls can coexist: nearby players hear your microphone, but not your remote caller.
- Added an optional speakerphone button, switched off at the start of each call, that plays the remote caller's voice around the phone owner.
- Speakerphone range is configurable, with a default of 12 blocks.
- Muting your microphone during a call also mutes it in proximity chat.
- Prevented duplicate voice playback when both call participants are nearby.
- Calls and proximity chat use the same voice port. No additional ports are required. Fixes & Performance
- Fixed the incorrect “Wait or check your coverage” warning when opening private conversations, even with 5G.
- Removed artificial text-message delays on 5G and 5G+.
- Reduced requests when loading contacts and conversations, and prevented older refreshes from overwriting newer messages.
- Message drafts are retained when sending fails.
- Optimised voice forwarding, background storage, bounded caches and batched synchronisation.
- Map exploration does not force chunks to load or generate. Updating Update Mobile Networks on both the server and every client. Voice integration requires Simple Voice Chat on both sides and uses UDP port 24454 by default. Proximity and speakerphone settings are available in <world>/serverconfig/mobilenetworks-server.toml.
Optional dependencies
Any compatible version
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
