Changes
Modern Chickens v2.0.12
New
Mega Chickens
- Rare Mega Chickens now appear in biomes where vanilla chickens spawn.
- Tame them with chicken food, saddle them, ride them, and open their inventory.
- Equip up to two chests for expanded storage.
- Added a Mega Chicken spawn egg and dedicated GUI.
- Chicken Catchers can preserve tamed Mega Chickens, including their appearance, equipment, stats, and cargo.
- When a Mega Chicken dies, it drops as a recoverable item. Use a Nether Star to reactivate it before placing it again.
- Owners can use a perfect 10/10/10 chicken item to change a Mega Chicken’s appearance.
- Added refreshed normal and Mega Chicken textures.
Mekanism integration
- Added optional real Mekanism radiation support.
- Radioactive chicken products, dropped items, and supported machine contents can now expose players and the surrounding world to radiation.
- Living radioactive chickens show localized radiation effects without spreading atmospheric radiation.
- Chemical chickens are now generated automatically for discovered Mekanism chemicals, including radioactive chemicals.
Configuration
- Added an in-game configuration editor with search, scrolling, validation, and save support.
- Edit both general settings and individual chicken settings directly from the mod configuration screen.
- Configuration changes apply after restarting the game.
Changes and fixes
- Chicken output can now scale with Gain, enabled by default:
- Gain
1–10produces 1, 3, 6, 10, 16, 23, 31, 41, 52, or 64 items.
- Gain
- Colored, liquid, chemical, and gas eggs now stack to 64.
- Reduced natural Modern Chicken spawn weight so wild populations compete more naturally with vanilla creatures.
- Natural flocks are limited to 1–2 chickens, including when older configs or datapack overrides request larger groups.
- Custom chicken item textures now render correctly.
- Fixed the Vanilla Chicken item texture and localization.
- Refreshed textures for 26 chicken types and their Mega Chicken variants.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
