This is a fork of True Darkness Refabricated, which is a fork of True Darkness by Grondag, maintained for Fabric 1.21+.
Grondag is the original author and all credit belongs to him.
Description
Moody brightness not dark enough? Do you want nights and unlit caverns to be truly pitch black? Modern True Darkness removes all ambient light from the game — meaning unlit caves, dark rooms, and overworld nights are completely dark with no artificial brightness floor. If there is no light source, you cannot see.
This fork maintains the mod for Fabric 1.21+ and introduces several improvements over the original:
Complete darkness: Moon phases are fully removed, so the overworld is always pitch black at night regardless of the lunar cycle. No more bright full-moon nights.
Distant Horizons compatibility: Fixes visual glitches and compatibility issues that occurred when using Modern True Darkness alongside Distant Horizons.
Server-side config syncing: When installed on a server, the mod can sync its configuration to clients automatically, ensuring all players experience the same darkness settings without manual configuration.
Client-side by default: The mod and its visual effects only require a client-side install. Server installation is optional and unlocks the config syncing feature.
