Molten Veins 0.8.4
A fix release. Five of the mod's advancements turned out to be impossible to get, so those are fixed, along with a few smaller things that were quietly wasting your pickaxe or losing your settings.
Minecraft: 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3 Loaders: Fabric and NeoForge
Fixes
Five advancements could never be earned. Vein Destroyer, Lapis Collector, Redstone Engineer, Iron Hoarder and Gold Rush all asked for more than 64 of an item. The way Minecraft checks these, it looks at a single stack in your inventory rather than your total, and a stack tops out at 64. So no matter how much you mined, they were never going to pop.
They now ask for the storage block instead, at the smallest amount that still covers what they asked for before:
- Vein Destroyer: 12 blocks of diamond (108 diamonds, it used to ask for 100)
- Lapis Collector: 15 blocks of lapis (135 lapis, used to be 128)
- Redstone Engineer: 29 blocks of redstone (261 dust, used to be 256)
- Iron Hoarder: a full stack of iron blocks (576 ingots, same as before)
- Gold Rush: a full stack of gold blocks (576 ingots, same as before)
Iron Hoarder and Gold Rush already said "1 full stack of blocks" in their descriptions, so those two finally do what they always claimed. Diamond Hands, Emerald Hunter and Ore Lord sit under two of these in the advancement tab, so that whole branch opens up properly now too.
Your settings could be lost if something else closed the settings screen. The screen doesn't pause the game, so if you died, got kicked, or the server opened something while you had it up, your changes never got saved and never reached the server. They only stuck if you closed it with Done or Esc. It now saves however the screen closes.
Layer and Hammer mode wore your pickaxe down on water and lava. Breaking a water or lava block just puts the same fluid straight back, but the mod still charged durability for it and counted it toward your Mining Limit. A Layer swing next to a lake or a lava pool mostly burned durability for nothing. Liquids are skipped now.
Instant-break blocks cost durability. In vanilla, breaking grass, flowers, torches or redstone dust doesn't touch your tool's durability. The shape modes sweep a lot of those up, and they were all costing a point each. They're free now, same as vanilla.
Some keybinds showed up as gibberish in Controls. On Fabric for 1.21.9 and newer, the Mode
Scroll Modifier key showed as key.moltenveins.scrollmodifier instead of its name, which made it
hard to find. On 1.21.8, the Molten Veins section heading had the same problem on both loaders.
Both have proper names now.
Opening settings while holding the mouse could click something. If you were mining and pressed the settings key, the held mouse button could register as a click on whatever was under the cursor, which sometimes changed your mode or your Mining Limit. That's fixed. 26.3 never had this one.

Grab the one matching your version and your loader, drop it in mods, done.
Fabric: Fabric Loader plus Fabric API. NeoForge: the matching NeoForge version, and
26.3.0.76 or newer if you are on 26.3.
Java: 21 for the 1.21.x jars, 25 for the 26.x jars.
Your config carries straight over and no settings changed this release.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
