More Leather & Bones Drops
A lightweight mod designed to make animal drops feel more natural. Larger animals have the chance to drop extra leather and bones based on their size. The larger the animal, the higher the probability and quantity of resources obtained. Small animals do not yield additional drops.
It contains no new items, blocks, or complex configurations; it is a simple mod that merely makes animal drops more logical.
Benefits
Leather and bones are valuable resources, especially in many modpacks that introduce features like backpacks, custom equipment, or expanded crafting systems. This mod increases the yield of these resources without altering the core Minecraft gameplay experience.
Instead of relying on hard-coded drop lists for specific mobs, it automatically calculates additional drops based on the animal's actual size. Consequently, it is compatible with animals added by other mods.
Features
Size-based drops Large animals drop more leather and bones, while baby animals yield significantly fewer drops.
Support for modded animals It does not rely on hard-coded mob lists; it automatically supports any entity that functions as an "Animal."
Logical exclusions Arthropods do not drop bones or leather. Undead animals (such as skeleton horses) drop bones but not leather.
Looting enchantment support The "Looting" enchantment works correctly, appropriately increasing the quantity of additional drops based on the enchantment level.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
