Changes
Changelog 1.8.0
New Features
- Customizable Portal Vertical Offset: The new
portalVerticalOffsetparameter (default 0.0) allows you to raise or lower the portal relative to its default position. Range: -2.0 to 5.0. - Portal Animation Speed: The new
portalAnimationSpeedparameter (default 1.0) is a multiplier for the opening and closing speed of the portal. 2.0 = twice as fast, 0.5 = half as slow. Range: 0.1 to 5.0.
Fixes
- Mod language setting changed the entire Minecraft interface: Previously, selecting a language in the mod settings (
en/ru) changed the global Minecraft language and reloaded all resources. Now the mod language works completely independently – it only affects the mod's text (GUI, tooltips, messages), without affecting the rest of the game interface.
Updated default values
portalActiveTicks: 60 → 100portalScale: 1.2 → 1.5portalSpawnDistance: 2.0 → 2.2
Optimizations
- Configuration is cached in local variables when processing network packets instead of repeatedly calling
MRPortalConfigManager.get().
Technical changes
- Created a utility class
ModTranslation(com.mentality.mrportal.util), which loads mod translation files from resources and provides aget(key, args...)method. Inautomode, it returnsComponent.translatable(); inen/rumode, it returnsComponent.literal()with the substituted translation. - All calls to
Component.translatable()in mod GUIs and messages have been replaced withModTranslation.get(): WaypointScreen, MRPortalConfigScreen, PendingTeleportManager, MRPortalNetworking, PortalStaffItem, TeleportScrollItem. - The
applyLanguage()method has been removed fromMRPortalConfigScreen, which calledminecraft.getLanguageManager().setSelected()andreloadResourcePacks(). - The
VERTICAL_PORTAL_OFFSETconstant inPendingTeleportManagerhas been replaced with the dynamicverticalOffset(config)method, which takesportalVerticalOffsetfrom the config into account. - Animation speed (
animSpeed) is transmitted via portal creation network packets to the client, where it scalesSPARK_DURATIONandCLOSE_DURATION.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
