Block disruptive chat from the first start. A starter English word list, two configured URL fragments, and spam checks run on your server without an account. Matching local messages are blocked and staff are alerted. A new install does not automatically mute players or clear everyone's chat. Review the starter policy for your community.

See the first result safely

1. Put the jar in plugins/ and restart.
2. Run /nmod test badword. The preview shows the bundled word rule as FLAGGED and blocked; the test never acts on a player.
3. Run /nmod status and /nmod doctor to see what is armed. Use /nmod mode monitor if you want local detections to alert without blocking.

Local checks cover configured words and URL fragments, message floods, repeats, caps, and long character runs. Configured words can catch spacing and leetspeak such as b4dw0rd. Staff alerts show the player, reason, and action; chat detections appear in /nmod cases. Use /nmod allow to correct a false positive. Signs, books, anvils, and private-message commands are available as optional local surfaces and start off. Extra punishments and strike escalation are optional and start off.

/nmod test previews content rules only. Rate, repetition, commands, and maps need live event context. /nmod preset family, community, or minimal changes cloud category thresholds; it does not change local rules, modes, or punishments.

Add cloud checks when you need them

Neomechanical can classify the meaning of an individual chat message and optionally scan filled map images. Cloud checks require an account, API key, and credits. Create an account, create a key, run /nmod setup YOUR_KEY, then /nmod doctor and /nmod test hello. The test consumes a cloud request.

Cloud decisions start in monitor mode. Review alerts before /nmod cloudmode enforce. Cloud failure is fail-open by default, and local checks keep running. /nmod privacy explains which content is sent over HTTPS and the no-store policy. Cloud checks do not read prior conversation turns.

Compatibility

Supports Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, and Purpur from Minecraft 1.18.2 through the current Paper 26.x line. The public jar was exercised on Paper 1.18.2, 1.19.4, 1.20.6, and 1.21.11. Paper 26.2 was checked manually; 26.3 has not yet been runtime-verified.
