2.0.0 — The Armory Rework
Not Enough Weapons is now a thirteen-role armory instead of seven loosely related weapons.
Reworked combat
- Rebalanced every original weapon and gave all thirteen a main-hand active ability.
- Added Copper Sabre, Venomfang, Amethyst Staff, Obsidian Maul, Guardian's Edge and Stormblade, with original material-based 3D models.
- Added bounded durability costs, per-weapon server cooldowns and rate-limited fire/frost/water/venom hit effects.
- Restoring Tide spends nothing when healing/extinguishing is unnecessary. Dragon's Blessing is a short defensive window rather than a continuously renewable shield.
- Control abilities affect only eligible visible monsters within range; they do not hit players, pets, allies, invulnerable targets or unprovoked neutral monsters. They do not damage terrain.
- Active cooldowns survive reconnect and respawn during the current server session; reconnect HUD timing is synchronized. Server restart clears cooldowns.
- The cooldown HUD adapts to compact windows and extra heart rows, leaving vanilla vitals and standard selected-item labels clear.
Progression and quality of life
- Rebuilt the K-key screen as a responsive, scrollable armory browser with all thirteen weapons, roles, actual held-stack statistics, ability details, crafting hints and repair ingredients.
- Added recipe-book unlocks and
/armoryquick help. - Replaced the shared emerald repair rule with appropriate individual repair materials.
- Preserved all original item IDs, maximum durability and crafting patterns. Existing item enchantments/names are not rewritten. New recipes use raw materials, so they cannot accidentally consume enchanted swords.
- Retained administrator-only
/resetcooldownsand/resetcooldowns <player>commands.
Installation and disclosure
Use only the JAR built and tested for your exact Minecraft version, alongside the matching Fabric API and Fabric Loader. Install the same version on both client and server, remove the previous mod JAR, and back up your world first. Do not install a modern JAR on an older version. This release is Fabric-only and does not support Forge.
AI disclosure: this rework contains AI-generated code, gameplay data, documentation and code-authored item-model geometry. Rebuilt from the author's publicly released CC0-1.0 mod artifacts; the original embedded license and seven familiar item textures are retained. Six new cuboid models use vanilla material textures; no AI-generated bitmap textures were added.
Exact-version requirements
Minecraft 1.21.8 only; Fabric Loader 0.17.2+, Fabric API 0.136.1+1.21.8 or newer for 1.21.8, and Java 21+. Required on both client and server. This is a beta release.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
