Basic Info
This is my first datapack. It contain 27 weapons with unique functions and abilities. Their power has a strain and carrying more than two has a cost which only grows the more you have.
Burden System
As a system to prevent the weapons from being abused by one single person, there is a burden from holding the weapons. The burden counts when it in any of your inventory slots
You are safe to have 2 burden and any more will cause you to be overburdened. There are different levels to burden. There is also a display that will tell you to drop a weapon once you become overburdened.
- Level 1: with a burden of 3 your maximum health is reduced by 5 hearts and armor max is capped to half.
- Level 2: with a burden of 4 your maximum health is reduced by a further 2.5 hearts, armor has no effect outside of enchantments, and you can no longer have absorption
- Level 3: at a burden of 5 you are on half a heart and all previous stages apply
- Level 4: any further burden kills you.
The Arsenal
1. Harpe

- Summary: A sword that bypasses armor
- Damage: 2
- Tooltip: "Skies Bane"
- Inspiration: Harpe was inspired by a sword of the same name from Greek mythology. It was the sword used by Chronus to kill his father Uranus. I focused on the part of being able to wound a god. If it could wound a god it could wound anything adn thus the idea of bypassing armor was born.
2. Caliburn

- Summary: A shining sword that can blind it's foes
- Damage: Equal to Sharpness 5 Netherite Sword
- Active Ability: Blinding Light
- Effects: Glowing and Blindness to everyone in 5 blocks while active.
- Duration: 1 minute
- Cooldown: 7 minutes
- Tooltip: "Sword of a King"
- Inspiration: Caliburn is another name for Excalibur. When King Arthur first drew the sword in combat it glowed and blinded his opponenet leading to his victory. That event lead to the inspiration of an active ability that blinds your opponent.
3. Tyrfing

- Summary: A sword with a raging anger and a thirst for blood
- Damage: Equal to Sharpness 6 Netherite Sword
- Active Ability: Cursed Blade (right-click to activate)
- Effects: During the windup you have slowness 10 before gaining strength 3, speed 3, & resistance for the duration. Getting a kill while it is active ends the effects instantly and leaves you with weakness, mining fatique, and regen for 15 seconds. If you don't get a kill when the time runs out, Tyrfing turns on you and takes your life in exchange for your failure.
- Windup: 15 seconds
- Duration: 45 seconds
- Cooldown: 9 minutes
- Tooltip: "Blood must be shed"
- Inspiration: Tyrfing is a norse blade made Dvalinn & Durinn while prisoner of Svafrlami. The blade can never be drawn without the death of a man and must be sheathed with blood fresh on its blade, and no living being can live to see another day once wounded. This became a sword that can kill easily, but at a high risk.
4. Lumberjaxe

- Summary: An axe that gives you the size and reach of a giant
- Damage: Equal to Sharpness 6 Netherite Axe
- Passive Ability: +1 block & entity reach and +50% player size
- Tooltip: "Paul Bunyan would be pround
- Fun Fact: It was originally just lumberjack's axe, but a friend suggested its current name which is much better
5. Berserker's Battleaxe

- Summary: An axe which empowers you as you slay your foes
- Damage: Equal to Sharpness 6 Netherite Axe
- Passive Ability: On player kill gain Strength 2, Speed 2, and Regen 2 for 30 seconds
- Tooltip: "Rip & Tear"
- Inspiration: mild inspiration from norse berserkers.
6. Labrys

- Summary: A heavy axe that swing with tons of force
- Damage: Equal to Sharpness 5 Netherite Axe & disables shields twice as long
- Active Ability: Heaviest Blow (right-click to activate)
- Effects: On the next hit you inflict Slowness 2, Weakness 2, and Blindness 2 for 10 seconds
- Duration: Instant
- Cooldown: 2 minutes
- Tooltip: "Break through all including skulls"
- Inspiration: Labrys is a type of double sided axe that is a sacred symbol in Minoan religion.
7. Pyromania

- Summary: A crossbow with flaming bolts.
- Damage: Power 5
- Other Enchants: Quick Charge 4 & Flame 3
- Tooltip: "I didn't start the fire"
- Inspiration: "One shudders to imagine what inhumane thoughts lie behind that mask."
8. Ascension

- Summary: A crossbow with balloon bolts that send your enemies to the skies.
- Damage: Power 3
- Other Enchants: Punch 5 & Quick Charge 1
- Passive Ability: take 50% fall damage while held
- Tooltip: "It's a Balloon"
9. Kaboom

- Summary: A crossbow that changes normal arrows to stronger rockets
- Damage: Pow 2 Rocket
- Passive Ability: 50% knockback from explosions & converts arrows to rockets
- Tooltip: "Rain down Demolition"
10. Palintonos

- Summary: A bow with no drop and stronger arrows
- Damage: Power 6
- Other Enchants: Punch 2
- Passive Ability: No arrow drop
- Tooltip:
- Inspiration: Palintonos is Greek for "bent backwards". High draw weigh composite bows bent the opposite way when unstrung which allowed higher draw weights. A good example would be the bow of Odysseus. The higher draw weight means less drop & more force which got turned into no drop and a bit extra damage for my version.
11. Golden Bow

- Summary: The diseased bow of a god
- Damage: Power 4
- Other Enchants: Punch 1
- Passive Ability: Arrows inflict wither 1 for 10 seconds
- Tooltip: "The sun shines brightly upon you
- Inspiration: The golden bow of Apollo that could inflict plagues where it was shot
12. Hurricane

- Summary: A bow that supercharges you in storms and strikes lightning on a hit.
- Damage: Pow 4
- Other Enchants: Flame 1
- Passive Ability: A successful hit strikes lightning and knocks back nearby entities & during thunder gain speed 2 and regen 1
- Tooltip: "Lightning crackles around you"
13. Gungnir

- Summary: A trident with extreme loyalty and the ability to reveal and slow foes.
- Damage: Sharp 4 Trident
- Active Ability: Hliðskjálf (shift to activate)
- Effects: slowness and glowing to all players in 10 blocks
- Duration: 2 minutes
- Cooldown: 8 minutes
- Tooltip: "Spear of The Aesir"
- Inspiration: The legendary spear of Odin that would always hit. The Ability is based on Odin's throne that allowed him to see everywhere in the nine realms.
14. True Trident

- Summary: A trident with extreme riptide, reduced fall damage, and benefits in the sea
- Damage: Normal Trident
- Other Enchants: Riptide 5
- Passive Ability: While in water gain dolphin's grace and conduit power
- Tooltip: "Stolen from the Sea"
- Inspiration: Based on the trident of poseidon
15. Masterful Spear

- Summary: Not a spear but a trident that pierces shields and armor alike.
- Damage: 1.5, but bypasses armor adn disables shields
- Other Enchants: Riptide 3
- Tooltip: "An ancient idiom now Solved"
- Inspiration: in the Han Feizi, a merchant is selling a spear that can pierce any shield and a shield that can block any spear. When he was asked what would happen when his spear was used on his shield, he couldn't answer. it came to be the idiom "自相矛盾" meaning self-contradictory. in my version of the weapon it can break down any shield for some time.
16. Skybreaker

- Summary: A mace that strikes lighting on hit and empowers you in storms
- Damage: Sharp 3 Mace
- Other Enchants: Density 1 and Wind Burst 1
- Passive Ability: Summon Lightning on hit and Gain strength 2 and regen 1 in thunder
- Tooltip: "Strike like Thunder"
17. Thyrus

- Summary: A mace dripping with wine that inflicts nausea on hit
- Damage Sharp 4 Mace
- Other Enchants: Breach 2
- Passive Ability: inflict nausea 2 for 15 seconds on hit
- Tooltip: "It reeks of wine"
- Inspiration: The staff of Dionysus.
18. Stribog

- Summary: A mace that lets you summon winds to carry you up
- Damage: Sharpness 5
- Other Enchants: Wind Burst 2
- Active Ability: East Wind (shift to activate)
- Effects: Rise 15 blocks upwards
- Duration: Movement is over ~2 seconds
- Cooldown: 2 minutes
- Tooltip: "Carried by the wind
- Inspiration: Stribog is an East Slavic god. In "The Tale of Igor's Campaign", the winds are refered to as his sons
19. Vlad

- Summary: A spear that doubles your speed and lets you lunge further than ever
- Damage: Sharp 4 Netherite Spear
- Other Enchants: Lunge 5
- Passive Ability: double movespeed
- Tooltip: "Janissaries, are you ready to die"
- Inspiration: Vlad the Impaler
- Fun Fact: The speed is given by attributes so it stacks with the speed effect.
20. Holy Lance

- Summary: a spear that inflicts greater harm on the undead and reduces that damage that you take
- Damage: Sharpness 5 & Smite 5 Netherite Spear
- Passive Ability: 8% damage resistance and knockback immunity
- Tooltip: "Stubbornness of a Crusader"
21. Basilisk

- Summary: a spear that can't charge, but compensates with a venomous lunge
- Damage: Sharpness 4 Netherite Spear
- Other Enchants: Lunge 2
- Passive Ability: inflicts poison 3 for 5 seconds on hit, but can't charge
- Tooltip: "Corrodes even Corrundum"
- Inspiration: Do I really have to explain this to you. It's a venomous snake.
22. Spark Staff

- Summary: wizard staff that lets you strike lightning where you gaze
- Damage: 5 from lightning
- Other Enchants: Knockback 5
- Active Ability: Lightning
- Effects: shoot a beam that strike lightning where it hits a block or an entity.
- Duration: instant
- Cooldown: 10 seconds
- Tooltip: "The Sky's Wrath"
23. Fireball Staff

- Summary: Do you really need this explained to you
- Damage: 6-28.5 from the fireball
- Other Enchants: Knockback 6
- Active Ability: Fireball
- Effects: shoot a burst of 3 ghast fireballs
- Duration: instant
- Cooldown: 10 seconds
- Tooltip: "Portal to Hell"
24. Skull Staff

- Summary: a staff that fire skulls at your foes
- Damage: 8 per skull
- Other Enchants: Knockback 3
- Active Ability: Wither Skull
- Effects: shoot a burst of 3 wither skulls where you are looking
- Duration: instant
- Cooldown: 15 seconds
- Tooltip: "Your skin is falling off"
25. Breeze Staff

- Summary: a wizard staff that lets you fire a wind charge and lunge
- Enchants: Knockback 7 and Lunge 3
- Active Ability: Wind Charge
- Effects: launch a wind charge where you are looking
- Duration: instant
- Cooldown: 10 seconds
- Tooltip: "I can Fly"
26. Cupid's Crossbow

- Summary: a crossbow which inflicts regen to heal your allies
- Enchants: Quick Charge 3
- Passive Ability: arrows inflict regen 3 for 5 seconds
- Tooltip: "Much less rewarding"
- Tip: Using instant health arrows greatly increases it's power and be sure that whoever you're shoot can live the initial hit.
27. Humble Stick

- Summary: A stick with the strength to send your foes flying back.
- Enchants: Knockback 15 and Sharpness 5 Stick
- Passive Ability: inflicts slow falling for 5 seconds
- Tooltip: "Begone"
- Inspiration: those old knockback sticks in bedwars and other minigames.
