🆕 New Features & Mechanics

- A new diagnostic item that displays your exact disease progression percentage directly in chat upon use.
- Cost & Cooldown: Consumes 0.5 hearts ($\frac{1}{2}$ heart) per check and has a 10-second cooldown.
- Initial Drop Mechanic: When starting a fresh world, once you step 5 blocks away from your initial spawn point, the monitor automatically drops from your inventory, dealing 1.5 hearts of damage.
- Starter Perks for New Players:
- Starter Chest: A chest now spawns directly under your feet upon joining a new world containing 3 free Pills.
- Guaranteed Carrot Drop: Your first killed Zombie is guaranteed to drop a carrot (if you don't already have one in your inventory) to ease early-game progression.
- World Generation Toggle:
- Added a dedicated toggle button in the Create World menu to easily enable or disable mod mechanics for specific saves.
- Pill Cooldown:
- Standard pills now have a 3-second cooldown to prevent accidental rapid consumption.
- Quality of Life (QoL):
- Created a dedicated Creative Tab containing all mod items.
- Added clear, informative hover tooltips for mod items in the inventory.
⚖️ Balance & Progression Overhaul
⌛ Slower Disease Timers (More Time to Survive)
Stage thresholds have been pushed further back to give players significantly more time to gather remedies and prepare:
- Stage 1: ~30 min ➔ 36.6 min
- Stage 2: ~40 min ➔ 46.6 min
- Stage 3: ~50 min ➔ 60 min
- Lethal Threshold: ~71 min ➔ 83 min
💊 Pill Effectiveness Buff
- Standard Pill: Now reduces disease progression timer by 20 minutes (up from 15 minutes).
⛏️ Resource Drop Rate Adjustment (Harder Farming)
To offset the longer survival timers and enhanced pill potency, gathering raw ingredients now requires slightly more effort:
- Medicinal Powder (from Iron Ore): Drop chance reduced from 50% ➔ 20%.
- Neutralizer (from Stone):
- Single drop chance reduced from 5% ➔ 2%.
- Double drop chance reduced from 2% ➔ 0.5%.
🧹 Internal Maintenance
- Cleaned up deprecated registration code and internal technical debt for improved performance and stability. No player-facing content was removed.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
