Planet – Seamless World Wrapping
Planet is a server-side mod (Fabric/Forge) that makes your flat map act like a sphere. Any entity (players, mobs, items, arrows) that crosses the world border is instantly teleported to the opposite side – top ↔ bottom, right ↔ left.
How it works (loading process)
- On first launch, the mod creates
config/planet-config.jsonwith default border = ±326. - It hooks into entity movement events and checks coordinates every tick.
- If Y > +326 → teleport to Y = -326 (X,Z unchanged); if Y < -326 → teleport to Y = +326. Same for X axis.
- Teleport is instantaneous and invisible to players.
Installation (jar loading)
- Stop your server.
- Place the downloaded
Planet-<version>.jarinto themods/folder. - Start the server – the mod activates automatically.
- Edit the config file if you need different border values (e.g., for a 1000×1000 map set both to 500).
Configuration
planet-config.json:
{
"borderX": 326,
"borderY": 326
}
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
