Changes
Pokémon Editor 1.8.0
Added
- Species-wide regular and hidden ability-pool editing in the visual Pokémon Data Editor.
- Searchable multi-select ability lists with separate inheritance controls for both pools.
- Server-side validation against Cobblemon's live ability registry.
- Ability overrides in
.peditorpackexports, automatic backups, rollback, and override-manager summaries.
Changed
- Saving an ability-pool override from a Pokémon now updates that Pokémon when its current ability is no longer valid for the edited pool.
- Valid existing abilities are preserved. Opening a species through the catalogue does not rewrite existing Pokémon in bulk.
- Ability changes refresh client species data and Cobblemon's Showdown battle registry.
Fixed
- Fixed a clicked Pokémon retaining an invalid old ability after its species ability pool was changed.
- Fixed reconciled hidden abilities being marked as forced, which prevented Ability Patches and Ability Capsules from working.
- Reconciled abilities now retain Cobblemon's native pool priority and remain compatible with its ability-changing items.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Cobblemon 1.8.0
- Fabric and NeoForge
- Java 21
- Install the matching Pokémon Editor 1.8.0 build on both client and server.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
