Changes
v1.3.2
This update adds a lightweight bot instant mode, mainly to make bot games more practical in multiplayer worlds. It also improves the settings menu and in-game documentation, adds support for dynamic ball radii in bot mode, and fixes several issues.
Main features
1. Bot improvements
-
Added instant mode for games with the bot.
- In instant mode, the bot does not run shot simulations.
- This greatly reduces calculation load and is useful when lag is not desired, especially in multiplayer worlds.
- However, the bot may perform significantly worse in this mode.
-
Added a multiplayer warning when setting up a game with the bot.
- If a multiplayer session is detected, the datapack warns that bot calculations may cause lag.
- The warning also provides a clickable option to enable instant mode.
-
Added support for dynamic ball radii in bot mode.
- This feature is still experimental and testing is limited. Feedback is welcome.
- Smaller ball radii may have a higher likelihood of numerical errors.
2. Improved documentation and settings menu
- Drastically improved the in-game settings menu.
- Settings are now organized into subcategories, making them easier to locate and understand.
- Added and improved localization for many setting descriptions.
- Added a concise in-game user guide.
Fixes and adjustments
-
Corrected the bot delay recommendation.
- The recommended delay is based on 10 force-spin combinations.
-
Fixed an issue where “play with bot” could interfere with normal single-player mode.
- In some cases, the cue ball might not be given correctly in normal single-player games.
-
Fixed a Eight-ball rule issue.
- When the table was open, failing to hit any object ball was not always identified as a foul.
-
Added support for item-display tables in bot mode when the ball radius is set to
1250. -
Restricted bot games to whitelisted players when the settings whitelist is enabled.
- This helps prevent unintentional lag caused by bot games on shared servers.
-
Adjusted reload behavior.
/reloadno longer force-resets the following settings:- allow cheat
- enable ball-spinning animation
- keep ongoing session
- These options are still enabled by default during initial installation.
-
Small performance improvements.
- Reduced repeated command calls.
- Optimized the arctangent calculation.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
