/undo takes back the last block you placed, broke, or poured within the last minute. /undo 5 takes back five. /undo list shows what can be undone. Java players can also crouch and press the swap-hands key (F).
Nothing is ever created from nothing:
A placed block is only removed while it is unchanged: same block, a crop must not have grown, a cake must not have been eaten, anything holding items must be empty. You get back exactly the item you placed. Filled shulker boxes are never recorded. Looking the same is not being the same: once another player or the world changes a block (a piston pushes it away and another one in, an explosion, a falling block, fire, growth, a dispenser...), the actions recorded there are retired, so an undo can never remove a block you did not place. Your own later actions on the block do not retire them: undos run newest first, each restoring exactly what the one before left. A broken block only comes back once you hand back every item it dropped: taken from the ground if still there, otherwise from your inventory. The check covers all drops before anything is removed, so an undo happens completely or not at all. Blocks that dropped experience (ores, sculk) and blocks with a block entity (chests, signs, banners, beehives, spawners, beds) are never restored after breaking, so neither items nor experience can be farmed. When another plugin changes a block's drops (auto-pickup, telekinesis), the drop list seen by the first listener differs from the one the last listener sees; that break is then marked as not undoable, because its drops can no longer be tracked. Buckets: water, lava, and powder snow (including waterlogging) are undone by taking the fluid back into an empty bucket from your inventory. Fish and axolotl buckets are never undone (the mob would stay). Doors, beds, and tall plants are handled as pairs, without physics, so no half pops off as a drop. Undos are logged in CoreProtect when it is installed (found by reflection), so inspections and rollbacks stay correct.
