Questify Update 0.6
We are thrilled to announce the release of Questify 0.6! This update brings massive improvements to customization, compatibility, and performance, alongside a huge wave of bug fixes.
New Features
Entirely Reworked Theme Editor
The theme editing experience has been reimagined to offer unprecedented control and ease of use.
- Visual Interface: A new drag-and-drop system allows for intuitive layout management of panels and widgets.
- Advanced Property Editing: A dedicated sidebar provides granular control over element properties, including dimensions, padding, and alignment.
- Enhanced Color Tools: We have integrated a professional-grade HSV color picker with hex code support and color presets for precise styling.
- Improved Workflow: The new UI streamlines the process of creating and modifying custom themes for your quest book.
Database System & Heatmaps
Gain deeper insights into player progression with our new database integration.
- Player Activity Heatmaps: Visualize player movement and activity to understand how users interact with your quests.
- Analytics: Track engagement metrics to identify popular quests and potential progression blockers.
New Quest Requirements
We have expanded the possibilities for quest design with powerful new requirement types.
Equip Item Requirement
You can now require players to equip specific items in specific slots to complete a quest.
- Precise Control: Define the exact Slot ID (e.g.,
head, chest, mainhand) and Item ID. - Armor Sets: Easily create quests that require equipping a full set of armor at once.
- NBT Support: Supports NBT matching for advanced item requirements.
Generic Quest Compatibility
Questory now features a Generic Quest system that adds compatibility with any mod!
- Universal Triggers: This system allows you to use any vanilla or modded advancement trigger as a quest requirement.
- No Addons Needed: You don't need to wait for specific Questory support for your favorite mods. If a mod adds an advancement trigger, you can use it in Questory immediately.
- Flexible Conditions: Configure complex conditions using the standard JSON advancement format directly within the editor.
In-Game KubeJS Editor
For advanced users and modpack makers, we've added a powerful in-game KubeJS editor.
- Direct Integration: Write and edit KubeJS scripts directly within the game interface.
- Versatile Usage: Use scripts for custom quest requirements or complex rewards.
- Streamlined Development: Test and iterate on your scripts without restarting the game or switching windows.
Improved Search Bar
Finding what you need is faster and easier than ever.
- Lazy Search: Search results load dynamically, improving performance when browsing large quest databases.
- Fuzzy Search: The search is now smarter, finding results even with approximate spelling or partial matches.
Multiline Text Editor Improvements
- Text Wrapping: The multiline text editor now supports proper text wrapping, making it much easier to write and read long descriptions without manual line breaks.
Bug Fixes
We've squashed a ton of bugs reported by the community:
- Checklist Quests: Fixed an issue where checklist tasks were unresponsive to clicks.
- Texture Browser: Resolved "texture not found" errors when selecting textures in the Sequence.
- Positioning Menu Zoom: Zooming now centers correctly on the mouse/view instead of anchoring to the top-left.
- Quest Shapes: Fixed rendering issues where certain shapes (like the Heart) were cut off.
- Description Saving: Fixed a bug where saving the quest description a second time would fail.
- UI Focus: Buttons in the description menu no longer retain focus incorrectly, preventing accidental activation with the spacebar.
- Narrator Shortcut: Disabled the default Ctrl+B narrator shortcut in the description editor to prevent accidental toggling.
- Character Limits: Removed the arbitrary 200-character limit per line in descriptions.
- Shape Designer: Fixed performance drops and rendering glitches when interacting with text boxes while drawing.
- Quest Sizing: Enforced quest size limits correctly.
- UI Overlap: Fixed visual overlap between the canvas and ID/Name fields.
- Grid Rendering: Resolved an issue where the grid would disappear when drawing shapes on the canvas.
- Saving System: Fixed critical bugs in the saving system for in-game editors, ensuring your hard work is never lost.
Performance Improvements
We have significantly optimized the core data structures to ensure Questory runs smoothly even with massive quest books.
- Reverse Dependency Index: Optimized from O(N) to O(D).
- Crafting Requirement Index: Optimized from O(NxM) to O(K).
- Item Tag Requirement Index: Optimized from O(NxM) to O(T).

We hope you enjoy these new features and look forward to seeing the incredible themes and quests you create with Questory 0.6.
