Changes
RailOptimization v2.0
RailOptimization 2.0 brings a faster rail update engine, Forge and NeoForge support, and persistent configuration.
What's New
- Added Forge and NeoForge support alongside Fabric.
- Optimization and power-limit settings are now saved automatically in
railoptimization.jsonand restored after restarts. - Added
/railoptimization reloadto apply configuration-file changes without restarting.
Improvements
- Reworked rail signal searches and propagation to reduce repeated work on straight and mixed-slope lines.
- Greatly reduced the cost of repeated neighbor updates that leave rail states unchanged.
- Reduced temporary allocations, repeated support checks, and redundant neighbor notifications.
- Improved WorldThreader compatibility by keeping update-cache invalidation independent between dimensions.
- Improved compatibility with modded redstone blocks and rail variants on Forge and NeoForge.
Fixes
- Corrected direction-dependent rail update ordering, including observer and piston/BUD microtiming at rail endpoints.
The default rail power range remains 8; extending it is still optional.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
