Changes
Witchbound 2.0.0 "Every Gift Has a Price"
The Witch Hut is now Witchbound (listed as Remnants | Witchbound), a witchcraft RPG. The mod id is unchanged
(better_witch_huts) and 1.0 worlds keep loading.
New
- Seven coven huts, each placed only where the land suits it:
- The Old Hut (the 1.0 hut, repaired)
- Bog Hut
- Mangrove Roost
- Hedge Cottage
- Nightshade Circle
- Rime Hut
- Bone Hut
- Resident Coven Witches, one per hut, with names. They never despawn, never join raids and fight only if provoked. Right-click one to open the Coven screen.
- Pacts: 12 permanent bargains, each a Gift and a Price. Three are offered per resident per day, with 1 to 3 slots depending on your standing. They survive death and milk, and a resident undoes one for 24 emeralds.
- Hexes: 8 lasting curses.
- Witches channel them in battle; hitting the witch breaks the spell.
- They survive death and milk.
- Each rolls a task that breaks it. Witch Bottles and residents can break them too.
- Coven Standing from −100 to 100, in six tiers. Kin are left alone by wild witches.
- Errands (20 kinds), offerings and remedies at every resident.
- Items: Grimoire (your ledger), Witch Bottle (breaks a hex), Poppet (catches a hex).
- Pacts and hexes appear as status-effect sigils on the HUD.
- Advancements: a 25-advancement "Witchbound" tab.
- Config:
config/better_witch_huts.jsonwith comments. - Commands:
/witchboundand operator tools. - Minecraft 1.21.1 and 26.3 (Fabric and NeoForge).
Changed
- The 1.0 hut no longer has a witch spawner: a brewing stand and Granny Hollowell live there now. Its chest and barrels draw from loot tables (1.0 had fixed iron in one chest).
- The hut generates in plains, sunflower plains, forests and birch forests. Swamps and dark forests have their own huts now.
- Huts are terrain-aware and far less rare. 1.0 used spacing 150; the new huts use 14 to 30 chunks per hut type.
- No dependencies. 1.0 required
jaumlwithout saying so.
Compatibility
- Same mod id and same
better_witch_huts:witch_hutstructure id. Half-generated 1.0 huts finish from the unchanged 1.0 template. - Works alongside YUNG's Better Witch Huts and other swamp-hut mods.
- Fabric 1.21.1 / 26.1.2 / 26.2 / 26.3 (needs Fabric API) and NeoForge 1.21.1 / 26.1.2 / 26.2 / 26.3. Java 21 for 1.21.1, 25 for 26.x.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
