Respawn Recovery Compass
This is a simple datapack and mod (thanks to the amazing VoxelLabs Datapack/Mods Converter), which gives the player a recovery compass after every respawn, so it's finally useful. You will never lose your loot again!
How it works
- Checks the player's health and death count every tick.
- If the player's death count goes up we know they died, but we don't know if they have respawned already or if they're still stuck on the respawn screen.
- That's why we also check the health.
- If the death count went up and their health went up as well, we know that they respawned.
- Then we can give them a compass.
- To do this only once we also check if the player already has a compass in their inventory. If they do, they don't get another one. That's it.
Compatibility
Should be compatible with most mods and datapacks. Even mods that change respawn or health behavior. The only issue I encountered so far is using /kill with Legendary Survival Overhaul installed. Dying normally works fine. Feel free to join my Discord if you find any bugs. Don't be hesitant!
Modpack Permission
You are allowed to include this mod or datapack in any modpack, as long as it's uploaded to either modrinth or curseforge. You may NOT redistribute this as a standalone mod or datapack or upload it to any other websites.
