3.1.1+1.20.1
⚠️ Read this before updating
This release is a major technical overhaul and is not backwards compatible.
- Requires the matching Spell Engine release. This version will not run on Spell Engine 0.9.x, and mods built against 0.9.x will not work alongside it.
- Update the whole set together. Spell Engine and every RPG Series mod must be on matching versions. Mixing in an older add-on will break at startup or misbehave in play.
- Spell books must be re-obtained. Spell books from an older world no longer carry valid spell data. Re-craft them, or re-bind their spells at the Spell Binding Table.
Back up your world before updating.
- Ported to Minecraft 1.20.1 (Fabric + Forge 47)
What's new since 1.2.0
Everything below was released between 1.2.0 and 3.1.1 on newer Minecraft versions only.
New spells & skills
- Rogue and warrior spell books now offer 6 spells: two choices across three tiers
- New rogue spells: Bear Trap, Mutilate
- New warrior spells: Throw Net, Last Stand, Mortal Strike
- Melee weapons grant their own weapon skills; the weapon you hold decides your skill
New items & equipment
- Aether dungeon loot: Valkyrie Shiv, Heavenly Harvester, Holy Double Axe, Gilded Battle Glaive
- Armor trim support for every armor set
- Rogue and warrior armor sets grant Critical Strike bonuses (with the Critical Strike mod installed)
- All recipes in the vanilla recipe book; smelting recipes disassemble rogue and warrior weapons and armor
Progression & world
- Arms Dealer trade advancement and spell casting advancements
- Barracks also generate through Lithostitched
Gameplay & balance
- Charge no longer breaks movement-impairing effects by itself; the Improved Charge skill does
- Last Stand grants knockback resistance instead of damage reduction
- Shock Powder stun lasts 2 seconds and no longer affects bosses
- Rogue armor grants Evade Chance instead of Movement Speed
- Vanilla's Strength effect gives a percentage attack damage bonus (configurable)
- Sharpness is percentage-based: +8% attack damage per level (configurable)
- Vanish renders worn armor translucently
- Fully translated into 20 languages
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
