RuinedReality Snowflake Orbital
Orbital strike system for Paper Minecraft 1.21.11. Used on Ruined Reality.
What This Does
Adds orbital strike commands to your server. Point where you want destruction, cast your fishing rod, and watch the explosions unfold. Six different strike patterns, each designed for different situations. Built for PvP, events, and server terraforming.
The Strikes
NUKE
The baseline heavy hitter. Spawns concentric rings of TNT in the air and lets them drop. Creates this expanding circular blast wave on impact.
If you want to flatten a base or clear a large area, this is your go-to. Ten rings by default, but you can dial it up or down depending on how much terrain you want to remove. The TNT spreads out evenly in circles, so you get consistent coverage in all directions.
Details:
- 10 rings (configurable), starts at height 80
- Each ring gets progressively more TNT as it expands
- Animated spread or instant spawn depending on config
- Yield 6.0 per TNT
- Takes about 160 ticks to fully detonate
When to use it: Destroying structures, leveling terrain, general chaos. Good radius, easy to predict.
SNOWFLAKE
Creates a geometric snowflake pattern. Six branches spread out from center, with sub-branches splitting off at angles. Looks like an actual snowflake when the TNT detonates in waves.
Used when you want something that looks deliberate instead of just a random blast crater. The pattern actually means something. Plus the wave-based detonation (TNT lights up progressively) creates this cool spreading effect.
Details:
- 6 main branches, 6 layers each by default
- Side branches fork off at ~60 degree angles, 2 levels deep
- Each branch is spaced 4 blocks apart
- Detonates in waves, spreading outward over ~30+ ticks
- Yield 4.0 per TNT
- The pattern is fully customizable (rotation, branch angles, layer counts)
Comparison to NUKE: Snowflake covers a similar area but it's directional and patterned instead of circular. Takes longer to fully detonate (the wave animation). Smaller yield per TNT but more spread out tactically.
STAB
Vertical strike. Drops two columns of TNT from ground level straight down to bedrock. Creates a deep hole.
Use this when you need to dig out a specific spot, collapse a structure from underneath, or just make a mess vertically. The dual columns mean you get good coverage even in narrow spaces.
Details:
- Two offset columns from surface to world minimum
- Yields 8.0 per TNT (higher than the others)
- Immediate detonation (no timing)
- No animation, just spawns and explodes
Comparison to others: Where NUKE and SNOWFLAKE spread horizontally, STAB goes deep. Good for targeting specific underground structures or making vertical shafts. Wasteful if you just want surface destruction.
DOGS
Doesn't actually blow anything up. Instead summons 50 armored wolves at the strike location, all tamed to you, with speed and strength buffs.
Tactical option if you want combat support instead of terrain destruction. The wolves spawn with red wolf armor and customizable potion effects. They're genuinely useful in PvP or against mobs.
Details:
- 50 wolves by default (configurable)
- Spawn within 5 block radius of center
- Tamed to the person who cast the strike
- Red armor on all of them
- Get SPEED I and STRENGTH II by default (editable)
- Effects last 120 seconds
Comparison: Complete departure from explosions. Use this when you need an army instead of destruction. Fast, directional, controllable.
CHUNKEATER
This one deletes an entire chunk. Spawns 250 TNT spread randomly across the 16x16 chunk, they all explode, then the plugin just removes every block (except bedrock).
Basically nuclear option. Leaves nothing but void and bedrock. Takes a moment for the deletion to happen (the TNT explosion happens first), then the chunk is just... gone.
Details:
- Targets the chunk your strike location is in
- 250 TNT spawned at height center + 35 blocks
- Yield 2.0 per TNT
- Auto-deletes all non-bedrock blocks after detonation (runs ~100 ticks after spawn)
- Completely removes the chunk from the map
When you'd use this: Event destruction, wiping a griefed area, resetting player bases. Overkill for small targets.
STASIS
Not a strike, more of a tool. Create a stasis rod linked to specific coordinates, then right-click with it to teleport there instantly.
Used for quick escape routes or repositioning. You lock the coordinates in when creating the rod, and it always goes to that spot. Rod gets consumed on use.
Details:
- Stores X/Y/Z coordinates in the rod's NBT data
- Instant teleport on right-click
- Rod consumed after use
- Create with:
/orbital stasis <x> <y> <z>
Strategy notes: Pre-create stasis rods at safe locations so you can escape if things go south.
Quick Comparison
Want to know which strike to use? Here's the breakdown:
| Strike | Coverage | Speed | Yield | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NUKE | Circular, wide | Fast | High | Base destruction, terrain leveling |
| SNOWFLAKE | Geometric pattern | Slower (waves) | Medium | Aesthetic destruction, events |
| STAB | Vertical shaft | Instant | Very High | Underground targets, deep holes |
| DOGS | 50 unit radius | Instant | N/A | Combat support, escort |
| CHUNKEATER | Full chunk | Very Fast | High spread | Complete erasure, map reset |
| STASIS | Point target | Instant | N/A | Repositioning, escape |
Coverage notes: NUKE and SNOWFLAKE hit similar areas (~50-100 block radius depending on config). STAB is deep but narrow. CHUNKEATER earases a chunk.
