Changes
Things Added and Changed in 1.0.4:
New Biomes: Added Endless Dark Caves and Fatal Ocean, increasing the Echo Dimension biome count from six to eight.
Sculk World Generation: All Echo Dimension biomes now receive denser Deep Dark-style sculk coverage.
Echo Ore Generation: Echo Ore now generates across the entire dimension instead of depending on individual biome files. It appears as rare 1–2 block veins between Y=-60 and Y=-50.
New Echothyst Blocks: Added Dormant Echothyst, Budding Echothyst, and Mature Echothyst with crystal shard growth and drops.
New Mini Structures: Added Altar, Bastion, Crypt, Reliquary, Shrine, and Watchtower structures with unique loot chests.
New Sonar Items: Added Echo Sonar and Echo Sonar Mk II for detecting nearby mobs, caves, and sculk activity.
New Large Echo Staff: Added a larger drilling staff with wider range, longer reach, and hardness-based drilling distance.
Cow’s Bucket System: Added Cow’s Bucket, Cow’s Water Bucket, Cow’s Lava Bucket, and Cow’s Milk Bucket.
Custom Milk Changes: Cow’s Milk Bucket now remains a custom milk bucket instead of turning into a vanilla Milk Bucket.
Echo Sword Changes: Echo Sword now applies Blindness instead of Darkness.
Echo Hoe Changes: Crop growth now activates only with Sneak + Right Click, allowing normal hoe tilling to work correctly.
Echo Shovel Changes: Suspicious Sand and Suspicious Gravel can now be recovered, with archaeology loot and rare diamond rewards restored.
Protector Staff Changes: The staff can drill through all breakable blocks, while harder blocks reduce the total drilling distance. Bedrock and other unbreakable blocks remain protected.
Echoenergy Stone Changes: The stone no longer disappears after supplying energy to the Echo Altar.
Tooltip Changes: Tooltips were simplified by removing unnecessary technical, cooldown, durability, and legacy information.
Pet Warden Changes: Pet Warden now attacks mobs damaged by its owner, follows normally while leashed, and no longer despawns.
Echo Warden Monarch Changes: The boss now drops one Warden Heart with a 100% drop chance.
Arena Changes: The arena area is cleared before generation to prevent terrain and structure overlap.
Echo Water Changes: Poison now activates only after approximately eight seconds of continuous contact.
Echo Book Updates: Added new information for items, bosses, progression, Echothyst, Sonar, and a warning that Diamond-tier or stronger pickaxes are required for mod blocks.
Performance Improvements: Removed heavy legacy scans, reduced unnecessary entity checks, optimized mob cleanup, and split large world generation tasks across multiple ticks.
World Generation Stability: Fatal Ocean terrain cleanup, structure placement, teleport safety, and chunk processing were improved to reduce freezing and generation errors.
Important: New biomes, structures, Echothyst, sculk coverage, and Echo Ore only appear in newly generated or previously unexplored chunks.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
