Changes
- Introduced Steel, a replacement for Iron for specifically the non-tool/armor tied blocks and items like the Blast Furnace, Minecart, Cauldron, and other blocks that were made of Iron but had a darker shade of grey/navy in colouration. Raw Carbon Iron is made by combining 2 Raw Iron and 2 Coal. You get 4 Raw Carbon Iron so effectively you double the Iron you would've used otherwise. Smelt these into Steel Ingots and then use those to create the other blocks!
- Steel also comes with it's own special blocks and items. It has a blockset like Iron, including it's own Bars, Door and Trapdoor variants, the latter two having the properties of Iron Door/Trapdoors but can be opened by hand! Vanilla Iron Doors no longer have a handle on their texture to better communicate their inability to be opened by hand
- The Butchers Knife has been moved to be a Steel item instead
- The Sledge Hammer adds a new use for the Heavy Core. Place a Heavy Core at the top of the crafting grid, sided by two Steel Ingots, then place a Stick in the very middle slot, and another Steel Ingot below that and you've got a Sledge Hammer!
- The Sledge Hammer does what you'd expect from a Minecraft mod but executed a little differently. This Hammer only mines blocks that are in the Base Stone Overworld/Nether tags, meaning that it's main purpose is to clear large areas, while the Pickaxe reaps the rewards. It also mines at a slower speed for balance, but still destroys 9 blocks in one go quicker than a pickaxe would. Supports the same Enchantments other tools would (except Efficiency for balance), although you may want to avoid Fortune as it won't really do anything for you (I hope to change this so it only accepts Silk Touch in the future)
- Added former unjustified Mob Vote loser, the Crab! The Crab spawns in Cold and Frozen Oceans at the same rate Pufferfish do in Lukewarm and Warm Oceans respectively
- The Crab's purpose is to provide a way for the player to tame Nautilus in colder climates through the meat stored in their big claw. If killed with a Butchers Knife however they will drop this claw directly, which grants +2 reach!
- Various other recipe tweaks
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
