SerpentWeaponry - Patch Notes Bug Fixes & Optimizations
Enchantment Fix: Fully reworked the item tag system for NeoForge 1.21.1 (data/serpentweaponry/tags/item/weapons.json). All weapon types can now be properly enchanted using the Enchanting Table and Anvil (Sharpness, Mending, Unbreaking, Fire Aspect, Looting, etc.).
Better Combat Integration: Fixed attack timings, animations, and hitboxes for all custom weapon categories.
New Weapon Category: Claws
Return and Balance: Claws are officially reintroduced to the mod (starting from Iron tier).
Passive Rework: Each hit stack now grants a percentage-based +10% base damage increase instead of a flat value, making claws scale much better in the late game.
Weapon Passives & Class Reworks Hammers
Smash Attack: Right-click charging has been reworked for one-handed use, featuring a custom smash_bar HUD element.
AOE Area: Releasing the charge triggers a heavy smash attack covering a 3x3 block area (width/height) up to 5 blocks forward.
Dynamic Knockback: Knockback force now scales dynamically with the number of accumulated charges.
VFX Speedup: The smash_attack visual effect animation plays faster and feels much punchier on impact.
Daggers
Base Backstab: Attacks from behind deal 2x damage by default.
Greatswords
Parry and Block: Holding right-click grants a 1-second parry/block (blocks 1 incoming hit) and knocks back melee attackers.
New Unique Enchantments
Shadow Stalker (Daggers only):
Crouching (Sneak) activates true stealth, hiding the player, armor, and held item.
Backstab attacks from stealth deal 4x damage with a unique visual effect.
Counter Attack (Greatswords only):
Successfully parrying/blocking an attack boosts the damage and attack speed of your next strike by 2x (+100%).
Visual Updates & Texture Overhauls
Retextures & Models: Updated textures and models for select weapons.
Custom Passive Icons: Added custom tooltip icons: smash_icon for Hammers, parry_icon for Greatswords, and backstab.png for Daggers.
VFX Enhancements: Fixed frame-by-frame rendering for the Hammer smash effect and attached visual particles directly to the primary target hit.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
