@everyone Ascension 3.0.0 update is live on CurseForge. Enjoy!
This is the biggest update so far. Here is everything that changed.
The Codex
Press Ctrl+L to open the Codex, an in-game book that knows everything about the mod. It wakes up after a few minutes of play.
- Codex: a full wiki of every skill, race, mob, item and system. Pages unlock as you find things in the world, or you can meditate on a sealed page to open it.
- Talents: spend points on permanent upgrades across five branches. You earn points from milestones, from your Max EP growing, and from experience.
- Profile: your Soul Mirror and your Constellation of Fate, a star map of everything you have achieved.
- Subordinates: see every creature you have named or tamed, where it is and how strong it is. Dominion talents let you give orders from anywhere: recall, restore, give EP, evolve and more.
- Modifiers: optional challenges that make your game harder for a reward, like halving your health for more damage, or being hunted by a creature only you can see. They only ever affect you, so they are safe on servers.
- Chronicle: update notes, FAQ and credits.
- Settings: effect brightness, screen shake, sky visuals and banners.
New Skills
6 new Ultimates, awakened from a mastered Unique at the Awakening Altar:
- Blood Sovereign (from Deus Sanguis)
- All-Seeing Truth (from Eye of Mind)
- Ruler of Death (from King of Curses)
- God of Fortune (from Trash Gamer)
- Apocalypse Bird (from all three Birds together)
- Shadow Monarch (from Shadow Necromancer)
4 new Uniques:
- Punishing Bird, Judgement Bird and Big Bird: three Uniques that belong together. Mastering one drops a feather that teaches you another. Master all three to awaken the Apocalypse Bird.
- The System: Solo Leveling style. Level up from kills, spend stat points, and finish your Daily Quest or face the Penalty Zone. At level 40 you become a Shadow Necromancer and raise the creatures you kill as your Shadow Army.
Blood spirit magic: Blood is now the eighth element.
- 2 summonable spirits: the Blood Wisp and the Blood Elemental.
- 4 new magics: Blood Wave, Blood Tendril, Blood Curdle and Blood Zone, learned from a blood spirit contract.
Disintegration: the strongest holy magic. Your target is frozen inside a tower of rising seals until the column of light detonates. It uses 90% of your magicules and hits for your magicules divided by 1000, as raw damage and again as spiritual damage. Learned by a True Hero or True Demon Lord who has mastered 20 magics.
New Mobs, Boss and Structure
4 new mobs: Halo Spirit, Halo Vessel, Blood Wisp and Blood Elemental.
The Halo Vessel: a giant boss made of rings with 12,000 health. It fires Judgement Pulse, Judgement Ray and Grand Judgement, and its holy attacks also damage your spiritual health.
The Halo Tower: a rare gilded tower that rises out of plains, savannas, snowy plains and deserts. Climb it for chests full of gold, Heaven Essence and the chance of a Soul Echo. At the very top waits the Ringed Conclave, where you offer 1,000 souls to summon the Halo Vessel. Anyone under 500,000 Max EP who gets close is thrown off the tower.
New legendary weapon: the Ringed Requiem, a katana dropped by the Halo Vessel.
Celestial Events
The sky now changes on its own. Each event makes one element stronger and brings its own creatures:
Blood Moon, Holy Dawn, Solar Eclipse, Harvest Moon, Frost Moon, Void Moon and Aurora Day.
Server owners can turn them off with the doCelestialEvents gamerule.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
