SmartEX Update: v.2.0.0 (The VFX Update) This update completely overhauls the visual perception of explosions and introduces new tactical possibilities for using gunpowder.
- "Smart Wick" System (Gunpowder Trails 2.0) Vertical Detonation: Gunpowder trails can now transmit flames upward and downward. Fire seamlessly travels over stairs and one-block height differences.
Physics Overhaul: The gunpowder trail block is now perfectly flat (1 pixel). It no longer obstructs player movement and visually blends with the surface.
Directional Placement: Trails are placed strictly according to the player's line of sight, allowing for precise and clean detonation lines.
- Enhanced Destruction Mechanics Realistic Fire: Explosions no longer just destroy blocks; they ignite flammable materials (wood, leaves, wool) within the blast radius.
Chain Reaction: Reworked TNT interaction code — signals are transmitted instantly without delays, even in complex, branched circuits.
- Visual and Sound Effects (VFX Engine) Shell Shock Effect: Players near the epicenter of an explosion will experience temporary stunning, accompanied by ear ringing (tinnitus) and disorientation.
Motion Blur: Added dynamic focus. Powerful shockwaves cause brief screen blurring to simulate a state of shock.
Physical Knockback: Explosions now feature vector-based force — players and mobs are pushed away from the center of the blast, calculating obstacles in their path.
- Technical Fixes Texture Optimization: Fixed block invisibility issues occurring on certain Forge versions.
Full Localization: Professional translations for Russian and English have been added, including item tooltips.
Version Support: The mod is optimized for Minecraft 1.20.1 and is ready for the transition to 1.21.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
