1.21.1 Feature Changelog
Compared to 1.21.11
Removed the old UV-style texture layer that could stick onto mobs and players. Winter now focuses on actual snow and ice appearing in the world instead of relying on fake visual layering. Winter snowfall effects were fixed so snowy seasons feel active again. Rainy seasons were corrected: rain only happens during rainy seasons rainy seasons actually trigger rain properly rain particles are less broken and less excessive Forge and NeoForge were brought closer to Fabric so all three loaders behave more consistently. All three loaders can now be built and tested individually more cleanly. Compared to 1.20.1
1.21.1 no longer uses the older winter behavior from 1.20.1. 1.21.1 uses the newer winter style with Solstice snow and ice in the world. The old mob/player overlay look is gone in 1.21.1. Loader support is better in 1.21.1, especially for separate testing across Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge. What was fixed in 1.20.1
Cherry blossom falling leaves now use season-based tinting properly. That brings cherry leaf particles closer to how the newer version handles seasonal color changes.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
