1.12.3-1.21.1-neo
Compatibility
Changes
Spectrum NeoForge 1.12.3 for Minecraft 1.21.1
This update comes with loaaaads of under the hood changes to make mechanics more consistent and easier to maintain. Pastel Upgrading, Potion/Status Effect internals, Entity type creation, ink block internals, spawner manipulation recipes, upgrades, floatblock internals, ... I tested extensively, but I am sure I missed a thing or two. Please let me know if you find anything!
Builtin Resource Packs
Similar to the Fabric version, the Neo version now ships builtin Resource packs:
- Alternate Textures: the texture variants that were used during MC 1.20.1. Includes the Spectrum Style Amethyst
- Programmer Art: uuuhhhhh yeah. Please don't. I went through all blocks to make them as compatible as possible. Even the dev art Pigment Pedestal works almost perfectly fine now, despite its hitbox being a tad off (resource packs can't tweak hitboxes).
Recipe Format Changes (breaking changes for modpack creators!)
All Secret recipes now have a condition that makes the recipe show as normal, instead of their hints. For most recipes the trigger is crafting the recipe one (crafting a salty tart will make the 'salty' recipes show up, for example).
For the modpack makers out there, all of Spectrum's recipe types now support additional_recipe_viewer_results.
Items/Blocks you add as reference there will make the recipes show up as results.
Example: Pure Azurite for the Crystallarieum Growing recipe for Azurite (which gives you just a cluster, but its nice to be able to look that up).
The Fusion Shrine recipe format has changed: effects got grouped into effects, with start, during and finish properties.
Specifying effects is now optional. Omitting them will play the default small explosion when finished crafting.
Improvements
- Gather Nodes now have two upgrade rings (up from 1)
- The Draconic Twinsword now comes preenchanted with Sweeping Edge V
- Potion Reagents are now able to apply color to Potions.
- The
spectrum:block_broken advancementcriterion can now test for all kinds of stuff, not just block states - Reworked the Moonstone chiseled block models. They behave like pillars now, making them a lot more consistent to place
- Added config settings for Ink consumption of Constructor's & Exchanging staff. Setting those to 0 makes them free, removing any Ink checks & tooltips
- Centered the 'Secret Recipe!' texts in EMI & REI
- Made the fluid converting & Primordial Fire recipe displays bigger, so long hint text will not overflow
- Added the
/spectrum force_enchantcommand, for when you really want to have something enchanted - Having a fluid as output in a Crystallarieum recipe now shows up in recipe viewers with 'usage/recipes' lookups
- Data driven Pastel Node upgrades are a lot easier to create
Bug Fixes
- Fixed bottling decay blocks with one bottle in hand deleting both the bottle and the decay
- Fixed the Draconic Twinsword forgetting its attack damage and speed in certain cases
- The crystallarieum now actually allows with 0 ink recipes. Additives with a 0 ink cost multiplier will now make it work, too
- The Moonstone Temple structure in the DD Cities got its missing loot, armor stands, books & tree platforming location back that was missing since back in 1.19.2. Below the Colored Trees now properly is Blackslag, instead of Dirt
- Fixed a crash when using Night Salts / other sleep items

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
