β‘ Lightning Spells & Combat Overhaul New: Lightning-style spell beams β every spell cast now fires as a jagged, crackling bolt (real 3D geometry, additive glow, ~0.5s fading afterglow) instead of a straight particle trail. Wand-lock duels (Priori Incantatem) now clash with writhing lightning bolts on both sides and a colorful spark burst at the collision point.
Protego Maxima now actively pushes back everything caught in the dome (~5-6 blocks) and deflects incoming arrows/projectiles back at the shooter.
Combat fixes:
Troll attacks are now properly telegraphed β no more damage landing before the swing animation. Basilisk venom spit now respects armor (was bypassing it entirely). Stupefy applies a proper ~1s stun on hit. π₯ Spell Behavior Changes Glacius now freezes the surface of water when aimed at it (previously froze underwater layers through the surface). Ventus extinguishes fire in a wide cone up to 15 blocks ahead. Confringo cooldown increased slightly (+0.3s). Accio range and pull strength significantly increased; description now correctly mentions it pulls creatures too. All spell damage increased by 15%; base mana regeneration increased by 5%. Creative-mode players no longer need reagents or mana to cast/learn spells. π¦ Creatures Phoenix, Thunderbird, and Snowy Owl now spawn in all Overworld biomes (previously biome-restricted) with increased frequency β these are the birds needed for spell reagents. Mooncalf spawn frequency increased and no longer restricted to a single biome. Thunderbird flight speed increased. Newly spawned creatures near players no longer despawn when you walk away. π¨ Visuals & UI Reworked Gloomwood's soil/grass textures to match vanilla's pixel style (previously a mismatched resolution). Spell Table screen: title text is now readable (was dark-on-dark), and long hint text no longer overflows the panel. Spell tooltips now show a short description of what each spell does. π¦ Loot & Progression Dark Spell Book drop chance from Death Eater camps increased.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
