Do you want to easily cultivate various resources in Minecraft just like growing crops? The Croparium mod makes it possible! It provides a brand-new way to obtain ores and all kinds of resources, allowing you to grow resources like farming crops! As is known, Mining ores using hands is extremely unhealthy.
What resources are cultivatable in this mod?
-
Vanilla Overworld ores (raw iron, diamond, amethyst, etc.).
-
Nether ores (ancient debris, glowstone, quartz, etc.).
-
Most biomass materials (shulker shell, gunpowder, slimeball, etc.).
-
Ocean-sourced items (prismarine gravel, prismarine shard).
-
Sweet treats (honey, honeycomb, enchanted melon slice).
-
Specific resources from compatible mods when the corresponding expansion mods are installed.
How to Grow
Step 1: Obtain Seeds
The crafting recipe for each type of seed is similar: 1 of the corresponding resource + 8 matching embryo shards.
Here are some examples:
-
Want to grow gold crops? Craft with 1 raw gold + 8 embryo shards.
-
Want to grow netherite crops? Craft with 1 ancient debris + 8 nether embryo shards.
-
Want to grow gunpowder crops? Craft with 1 gunpowder + 8 biomass embryo shards.
Currently, there are 8 types of resources available for planting in the mod, corresponding to 8 types of embryo shards.

How to get embryo shards: Craft a classic stonecutter with 4 cobblestones. Hold the corresponding material and right-click the stonecutter to attempt extraction. You have a 30% chance of success each time, and one matching embryo shard will drop upon success.
Step 2: Prepare the farmland
Ores can only grow on specific farmland — vanilla dirt farmland won’t work at all!
Right-click on specific blocks with dedicated tools to till them into specialized farmland.
| Farmland Type | Overworld | Nether | End | Marine | Sweet | Tough | Aether | Biomass |

Farmland moisture requirement: Farmland must stay moist, otherwise it will degrade! Different types of farmland have different moisture needs:
-
Overworld, End & Aether Farmland: Similar to vanilla farmland, a water source (including running water) must be within a 4-block radius.
-
Nether, Biomass & Tough Farmland: Lava must be nearby to stay moist.
-
Sweet Farmland: Requires Excessively Sweet Water nearby. This special water can be crafted with 1 bucket of water + 8 sugars. Honey Fluid and Royal Jelly Fluid from the The bomblezone mod can also moisten Sweet Farmland.
-
Marine Farmland: Must either contain water itself or be adjacent to water.
Step 3: Growth and Harvest
Crop growth mechanics
The moisture level of the farmland and the number of adjacent farmland plots will affect the crop’s growth success rate.
Crop acceleration mechanics
Right-click the crop with the corresponding type of embryo shards to accelerate its growth; each use will randomly increase the growth stage by 1–3 levels. Fill a dispenser with embryo shards to accelerate all crops within a 16-block front area at once.
Two Harvest Methods
1. Direct Destruction
When the crop is fully grown, destroying it directly will drop 1–2 seeds plus a certain amount of the corresponding resource. If your main-hand tool has the Fortune enchantment, it will increase the maximum drop quantity.
2. Right-Click Harvesting
You can also directly right-click a fully grown crop. It will drop a certain amount of the corresponding resource (but no seeds) and revert the crop to its initial growth stage. If your main-hand tool has Fortune or Looting enchantment, the maximum drop quantity will be increased. If it has the Fire Aspect enchantment, the crop will drop smelted ores directly.
Reactor Core
Want to automate the process? First, craft a reactor core with a nether star, then place it on a metal pyramid base to activate it—just like a beacon!
-
Once activated, it will periodically accelerate the growth of nearby crops. The acceleration effects of multiple reactor cores with different phases can stack.
-
If the crop is already fully grown when accelerated, it will drop the corresponding ore or resource and revert to its initial stage.
-
The base can be upgraded to a maximum of Tier 4; a reactor core placed on a Tier 4 base will have double the acceleration efficiency.
-
The reactor core can be equipped with expansion modules to enhance its functionality; a single reactor core can hold up to 2 modules at the same time. There are currently 5 module types: Auto-Smelting Reactor Module, Auto-Collection Reactor Module, Experience Reactor Module, Fortune Reactor Module and Agriculture Reactor Module. (The module system was added in version 4.3.0.)
Configuration Files
-
Path: config/croparium (configuration files added in version 4.6.0)
-
The first time you launch the mod, it will automatically generate two files: "English Config.json" and "中文配置.json" .
-
The content of the configuration file will also take effect in expansion mods.
-
The file is only read once each time the game starts; changes will take effect after restarting the game.
-
If you accidentally corrupt these files, delete them and restart the game to regenerate the default configuration files.
The content of the "English Config.json" file is as follows:
{
"This value determines whether entuties will take damage when walking on farmland soaked with lava (Defaut: true)": true,
"This value determines whether the right-click to harvest crops function is enabled (Defaut: true)": true,
"This value determines whether smelted items will drop when harvesting crops with a tool enchanted with fire aspect using right-click (Defaut: true)": true,
"This value determines whether the reactor core is enabled (Defaut: true)": true,
"This value determines the base number of items dropped when right clicking to harvest (Default: 2.0)": 2.0,
"This value determines the extra number of items dropped when breaking mature crops (Default: 0.0)": 0.0,
"This value determines how fast the crop grows, bigger the value is, slower the crops grow (Default: 3.0)": 3.0,
"This value determines how frequently the reactor core refreshes, and setting this value too low may cause lag (Default: 180.0)": 40.0,
"This value determines the success rate of obtaining embryo shards each time in the classic stonecutter (Default: 0.3)": 0.3,
"This value determines whether the corresponding crop can be ripened using embryo shards (Defaut: true)": true
}
Expansions
Since version 3.0.0, the mod has been split due to the continuous expansion of content.
Players can install the corresponding expansion mods as needed, with the main Croparium mod serving as the required dependency.
Some expansion mods:
Croparium: Confluence Overworld
Croparium: Composite Materials
Biomes O' Plenty Legacy Reborn & Croparium
More content is still under development!
