✨ New
- Death points — when you die, ST Explorer remembers where, and it keeps your last 10 deaths, not just the latest. Each one gets a ☠ row in your waypoint list (with how far away it is) and in the chat, with [Go] (a compass that points to it) and [✕] (forget it), and a soul-wisp light marks the spot within 64 blocks. They don't use up your 20 waypoints.
- They clear themselves — walk back to a death point and it disappears from your list, together with its light and its compass, with a soft chime and a puff of souls. It only clears once you've been more than 12 blocks away, so dying and respawning right there doesn't erase it.
- One compass per death — [Go] gives a compass named with the death's coordinates, and forgetting that death point with [✕] also takes its compass out of your inventory, so you never carry a compass to a place that's gone.
- Button sounds — the delete confirmation, the "hold a Book and Quill" warning and the "waypoint no longer exists" warning now make a sound like the rest of the menu, so every button gives feedback.
🔧 Improved
- Much smoother on busy servers — each player's biome check, structure check and waypoint particles now run on their own tick instead of all at once, so the lag spikes are gone: in our tests the heaviest tick with 10 players dropped about 80%.
- Lighter menu upkeep — buttons are checked every 0.1 s and their triggers re-armed every 4 ticks instead of every tick, and the waypoint particles only look at as many slots as you actually use.
- Language buttons refresh the menu — picking English or Español reopens the menu already in the new language.
⚠️ Notes
- Supports Minecraft 1.21 → 26.3. Pick the download that matches your version.
- The on/off switches are server-wide: on a multiplayer server, anyone can flip them for everybody.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
