Changes
Storage Finder 1.0.0
The first public release of Storage Finder.
Features
- Search items in previously opened chests, trapped chests, barrels, and placed shulker boxes.
- Use visible item frames as an additional search source.
- Search with a held item or through a localized text catalog.
- Run multiple color-coded searches simultaneously.
- Highlight every matching storage block.
- Display active searches, match counts, and route status in a compact HUD panel.
- Build safe ground routes to up to three nearby reachable targets.
- Use incremental multi-goal A* pathfinding with collision and elevation checks.
- Avoid fluids, fire, cactus, magma, powder snow, and other hazards.
- Configure a strict search radius from 1 to 8 chunks.
- Store container data locally with backup and recovery files.
- Separate indexed data between servers, worlds, and dimensions.
- Configure behavior through Mod Menu.
- Includes the official Storage Finder project icon.
Item matching
- Regular items are matched by their base registry type.
- Custom names, durability, and normal enchantments are ignored.
- Enchanted books are indexed separately by stored enchantment type.
- Enchantment levels and custom book names are ignored.
Important limitations
- Containers become searchable only after they have been opened at least once.
- Ender Chests are not indexed.
- Only chunks and entities already loaded by the client are searched.
- The mod never forces additional chunk loading.
- Routing supports normal ground movement but does not plan swimming, flying, ladders, door opening, or complex parkour.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.1.2
- Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or compatible
- Java 25
- Fabric API
- Mod Menu is optional
This is a client-side release. No server-side installation is required.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
