StreamCraft Live v0.19.22 — Gesture Detection, your voice on the stream, and Display Block audio
This update rolls up everything since v0.17.4. The short version: your webcam can now move your character's arms, your microphone is finally part of your stream, every Display Block has its own volume and range, macOS screen sharing is fixed from the ground up, and Block Glow, share-to-web, voice chat and the settings screens all got the polish they were missing.
Gesture Detection (Beta)
- Your webcam poses your arms. Turn on Gesture Detection in the Camera section of the StreamCraft menu and nearby players see your arms move as you move — wave, point, hold something up. It also works with the camera off, so you can gesture without sending any video.
- It runs on your machine. No video or images leave your computer; only a few arm angles go to the players near you. It is free in every tier: no licence, an expired licence and single player all work.
- Duck to Crouch (off by default) makes your character sneak when you duck your head. Arm Depth stays off by default — front-to-back reach is not accurate enough yet — and the
GESTUREHUD marker tells you why your camera light is on. Gesture Detection starts off every time you join a world. - Works on Minecraft 1.20.5 and up on both Fabric and NeoForge. On 1.20.1 the toggle reports unavailable.
- Known limits: arm movement is side-to-side only, fine pointing is approximate, and the character has no elbow.
Your voice is on the stream
- YouTube restreams and web viewers hear you. Until now they heard game audio but not your commentary. A new Mic on stream setting (Voice Chat settings, on by default) publishes your microphone alongside your screen or camera. Mute mutes your viewers too — one control. Turn it off if you would rather keep your voice in-game only.
- Nearby players in-game still hear you once, not twice — as long as they are on this version too (see Upgrading).
Voice chat
- Voice works when you host with Open to LAN. It was silently dead in both directions.
- Voice Chat Settings now shows a live status line (
Voice: connected (12 ms), orcan't reach this server's voice relay), and you get a one-off chat message naming the UDP port to open when it cannot. Admins get/streamcraft voice, which lists every player and whether their voice actually connected. - "Open Mic" is now "Always On" and skips the silence between your sentences by itself. The old Voice Act. mode is gone; anyone using it is moved to Always On.
- Mac microphones running at 44.1 kHz no longer sound sharp and fast to other players. Single-player worlds no longer open a voice connection at all.
Display Block audio
- Every Display Block has its own Volume (0–100%) and Range. Open the display's config screen: Range steps through Muted → Auto → 4…80 blocks → Global (click to step, scroll or Shift-click for finer steps), and you hear the change live while the screen is open. Everyone hears the same setting.
- Stream Volume (0–200%) in General Settings is your own listening level for every stream. It replaces the old Proximity control, which did nothing. Above 100% boosts.
- Screens you already placed sound exactly as before until you change them.
Screen sharing on macOS
- Camera on plus screen share no longer freezes every few seconds. Every video source now uses the same codec, so the order you turn things on no longer matters. Restart a running stream once after updating.
- StreamCraft now asks macOS for Camera permission, and a denied camera says so instead of "unknown".
- The menu no longer comes up empty after joining a server (no displays, no webcams) and the mic no longer silently fails to start.
- Menu Bar toggle (Settings → Stream & Display, macOS only), on by default: share the whole display and a 16:9 Mac streams a clean 1920×1080. Turn it off to keep the menu bar and the macOS recording indicator out of the picture; it applies to a share already running.
- Shares capture up to 1440p, and fullscreen apps lose the black notch strip at the top automatically.
- Windows and Linux capture is unchanged by all of this. Virtual cameras remain Windows only.
Block Glow
- The glow blends out instead of ending in a hard edge, sits closer to the panel, keeps corners continuous with the sides, and no longer shows dark cloud shapes at night or cuts a hole in daytime clouds.
- Water, particles and glass render through the glow again, including for Iris users with or without a pack loaded — on Minecraft 1.20.1 through 1.21.8, both loaders. On 1.21.9–1.21.11 and 26.x the fade and corners are right but the glow can still hide water behind it; that fix is still coming.
- Block Glow stays opt-in per block: Glow in the display's config screen.
Share to web
- Sharing to the web works when you are alone on a server. Minting a link and starting the stream used to wait on each other; now the stream attaches first and the link follows.
- Webcam-only web shares reach the page. A failed publish no longer disables that camera or screen for the rest of the session, and refusals from the share service now say what is wrong instead of
HTTP 403.
Settings
- General Settings is a compact two-column form with Stream & Display and Gesture Detection sections, fits every window size without scrolling, and every control in both settings screens has a hover tooltip. Set vanity web URL has its own full-width row under Stream & Display.
- Option buttons step from the choice you can see (they used to jump from the first choice on 1.20.1–1.21.10), and labels stopped repeating themselves.
Fixes and polish
- Your own Display Block clears when you stop sharing. It used to keep the last frame until the block was broken.
- NeoForge: screens no longer vanish at steep viewing angles on 1.20.6 and the 26.x line.
- Auto-crop is off by default on newly placed Display Blocks. Displays you already placed keep their setting. When it is on, it only trims truly black letterbox bars now, never a dark app toolbar.
- The "Visible to: …" line in the top-right corner is gone; the LIVE marker already tells you that you are broadcasting.
- While you are streaming or watching, StreamCraft reports your shader pack, Iris version and graphics renderer string to the licensing service, so we can fix the packs that break screens. Nothing is sent when you are not in a session, and nothing identifies you beyond your licence.
Known issues
- On Minecraft 26.2 (both loaders) the displayed screen is noticeably dimmer than on other versions, even at 100% brightness. It is in the new renderer, not the mod; a fix is being worked out.
- On NeoForge 1.21.11, 26.1 and 26.2, voice chat runs without echo cancellation, noise suppression and auto-gain. Voice still works; use headphones to avoid echo until the next release.
- On 1.21.6–1.21.11 your own Display Block preview may show letterbox bars that viewers do not see.
Certified builds
Every build in this release was hand-tested by slash on 2026-09-07 on a Windows PC and an Apple Silicon Mac joined to the same server: join and menu, screen share and camera in both directions, desktop audio with the new Volume and Range controls, voice chat, Block Glow, and a clean stop. All 19 passed.

Compatibility
- Every Fabric version from 1.20.1 through 26.2, and every NeoForge version from 1.20.6 through 26.2, each in five files: Windows (no suffix),
-linux,-linux-aarch64,-macos-arm64,-macos-x86_64. NeoForge 26.2 is published as a beta, matching NeoForge upstream. Fabric builds also load under Quilt (1.20.1–1.21.11). - Fabric and NeoForge clients can share the same server.
- All native code is bundled in the JAR. macOS 13 or newer for screen and system-audio capture.
Upgrading
- No wire-protocol change since v0.17.4, so mixed versions can still connect, and there is no new Terms prompt. Settings and licences carry over.
- Run the same version on server and client. Display Block audio, the glow fixes, gestures and the share-to-web fix all need both sides on this build.
- Players still on 0.18.x standing next to you will hear your voice twice until they update.
- macOS: reinstall the mod rather than swapping only the jar — several fixes are in the native Mac component that ships inside it.
- Mic on stream is on by default. Turn it off in Voice Chat settings if your voice should stay in-game only.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
