Territorial is a server-side configuration mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge that gives server owners and modpack creators precise control over where crops can grow and animals can breed. Using a flexible rule-based system, you can restrict or allow these events based on biome types, temperature ranges, coordinate boundaries, dimensions, and specific crop or animal types.
The mod allows you to create realistic farming challenges, establish protected zones, implement regional specialization, or add geographical restrictions to gameplay. Rules are configured via TOML files with support for biome tags, namespace wildcards, temperature thresholds, and dimensional filters. Multiple rules can be layered with priority-based evaluation.
Features include in-game commands for configuration management (/territorial reload, /territorial rules), optional Dynmap integration for visualizing restricted areas, and a Farmer's Almanac item that players can use to check growing conditions at their location. By default, all events are allowed everywhere until rules are configured, making the mod fully opt-in.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
