Reverie 0.1.4 | Your First Dreams
This update introduces Dream Time, new ways to manage your space and inventory, and additional safeguards for returning safely from the Reverie.
Dream Time and Drowsiness
- Added a personal Dream Time reserve that is only spent while inside the Reverie.
- Use Amethyst Shards on your Dreamweaver’s Bed to add more Dream Time.
- Remaining in the Reverie after running out of time now builds Drowsiness.
- Players with Drowsiness cannot re-enter until it wears off or is reduced by right clicking a Dreamweaver’s Bed with Phantom Membrane.
- Drowsiness counts down while the player is in the Overworld.
- Added warnings when Dream Time is running low and when Drowsiness begins.
- Added a status bar showing remaining Dream Time or accumulated Drowsiness.
- Removed the previous guest Amethyst entry fee and old overstay penalty.
Starbound Beds
- Players can dedicate a Nether Star to their Dreamweaver’s Bed to become Starbound.
- Starbound players can store more Dream Time.
- Amethyst Shards provide more Dream Time to Starbound players.
- Starbound players accumulate Drowsiness more slowly and receive more relief from Phantom Membranes.
- Starbound status belongs to the player and remains when their bed is moved.
- Starbound beds now have visible effects and display their status through Jade.
Do Not Disturb
- Added Do Not Disturb controls to the Recovery Compass menu.
- Players can create one temporary protected zone around their current location.
- Nearby players can be assigned Builder or Visitor roles.
- Visitors can explore but cannot place or break blocks, interact with the area, attack entities, or move items inside the protected zone.
- Overlapping zones prioritize the owner of the closest Dream Anchor.
- Owners can hold a Recovery Compass to view their zone’s center and radius.
- Visitors automatically see nearby restricted boundaries.
- Do Not Disturb turns off when its owner leaves the Reverie.
- It also turns off if the owner remains outside the zone for one minute by default.
- Servers can configure or disable the abandonment timer.
Recovery Compass
- Expanded the destination menu with Do Not Disturb controls and nearby player roles.
- Saved Dream Anchors can now load their associated Dream Inventories.
- Recovery Compass destinations remain saved when awakening or replacing the compass.
- Reduced the Recovery Compass recipe from eight Echo Shards to two.
Starting Inventories
- Servers can configure the items given to players who enter without a saved Dream Inventory or Dream Imprint.
- The Recovery Compass remains the default starting item.
- Blocked items remain prohibited from all starting inventories.
Administration and Configuration
- Added commands for administrators to add or remove Dream Time from players.
- Added settings for starting time, Amethyst value, storage limits, warnings, Drowsiness, Starbound bonuses, status-bar visibility, starting items, and Do Not Disturb abandonment.
- Expanded
/reverie configand/reverie doctorto report and validate the new settings.
Advancements
- Added advancements introducing Dream Time, Starbound upgrades, and Do Not Disturb.
Reliability
- Interrupted wake-ups and inventory recovery no longer trust saved player coordinates.
- Recovery now attempts to return players beside their Dreamweaver’s Bed, then falls back to their respawn location or world spawn.
- This protects players from being restored to invalid or extreme coordinates after an interrupted transition.
- Existing worlds retain their beds, anchors, inventories, bookmarks, and recovery data when updating.
Back up your world before installing the update.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
